How high were the cholosterol levels? Mine were high prior to finding out I had Hep B. But it was only high within 50 points. I opted not to do medication once I learned of my status, for fear of damaging liver (and because I also felt it was just a "quick fix") and opted for a healthier lifestyle. Within 6 months, my cholestorel levels were returned to normal. So while I did choose the longer path, it was also the safer path.

Vitd25oh at 100ng/ml is able to correct cholesterol and high blood sugar so after 6-12months of stable levels at about100ng/ml you may try stop sgatins and see if chol stays normal

i also suggest to reduce all dairies products which are all extreemly unhealthy except consuming low quantity of raw organic dairies where animals are not fed industrial foods or treated by drugs.industrisl milk has any type of steroid antibiotics and crap animals are fed that goes to us when we drink it

The best statin for hbvers is simvastatin, it has very big trials showing reduced liver cancer and boosting effect of both improved responce to antivirals and peginterferon.the other statins did not show effects on hbv

it is mandatory that you check your vitd25oh levels that are 100% defidient due to hbv.this deficiency suppresses immune function, makes high colesterol,, osteoporosis and muscles pains during statin use.

the dose of vitamin d3 is 5000 to 10.000iu, vitd25oh levels must be around 100ng/ml, lower doses have little effect to reach these levels

You can buy cheap vit d3 on bigvits.co.uk in europe while it is very difficult to find pills at 10.000iu in pharmacies in many countries, so best buy online

puritans.com is another good quality cheap source if not in europe

Dear, my mum was using also cholesterol (I don't know which one) while she did not know that she has chirosis. Her alt /ast level got very higher after an investigation first thing she did was quitting the cholesterol medicines. So please be careful and insist asking your doctor if medicines are harmful for liver or not.

I am not a doctor. Statin can cause hepatitis (inflammation), but I recalled it is safe to be prescribed for Hepatitis B, in fact some studies had shown it is protective against liver cancer (HCC). Make sure your doctor is ware of your Hepatitis B status and may be start off with a lower dosage. I know, in the label information for Crestor, it has a warning for Asians with liver disease at the higher dosage.
I think stef2011 has more information about use of statin.
