Viread - Co-pay help from Gilead up to $200.00/month

I started taking Viread two weeks ago.  In the last visit, my doctor gave me the MYACESS card (from Gilead, Viread maker).  It is like a VISA card.  I called the activation number, and with some simple answers, they authorized $50 per month for my Viread prescription co-pay.  Information on this card indicated that they can pay up to $200 per month.
Hope this info helps!

No I don't take any supplement.
I think they maybe harmful to your liver with HBV.

My exercise consists of running (5-10Km) and gym weight work every other day. In conjunction with exercise, I try to use the stairs and walk every where that I can.  Also, I try to eat healthy with a lot of fresh veggies and low fat.

Interferon is really bad stuff and I do not intend to take the unnecessary risk when I don't have to.  Right now my viral count is "undetectable" but the virus trace is still there, so I will continue to take viread and live a healthy style as much as I can.  Hopefully one day they will find a definite cure for it.

Thanks Rome70

No I haven't heard of this issue.
I know that Viread can effect your kidney and my blood test every 6 month checks for this.
I'm a male so bone density may not be an issue?

Take care

Must be a good reason for the Doc to ask you to take TNF immediately.

First of all, are you male/female? HBV DNA and ALT numbers.

Hi Sigma9!

Great to gear about your progress. Have you tested HbsAg quantity?

Do you think of trying interferon add on? After 4 years on Viread you have a good chance to clear the virus completely with the interferon.

Can you share your diet and exercises that you do?

Do you take any supplements?

Best Wishes

Hi Poorkid28
I can tell you that I'm doing fine.  After over 4 years on Viread, I have no symptom or side effect at all.  I'm 53 now and have been trying to eat and live a healthy lifestyle with a lot of exercise.  I think this help the situation a lot.  BTW - I just did a 10K run yesterday as a normal exerciser routine.  My viral count has been "undetectable" for a couple years now (at 1.3 million when I start the treatment).

My viral count shot up to 1.3 million in March 2009 when I decided (really have no choice at that point) to start taking Viread.  So I completely understand what you're going through right now.  I think the decision point is your viral count.  At some viral count level, you have to take it, there is no choice.  However, I hope my information helps you feel better on your decision.

Also, here are some other very important things that you need to be aware of:
-  Your wife needs to be vaccinated.  She need to be tested first.
-  If you have any children, then they need to do the same.  If you are going to have any children, make sure the babies are vaccinated.  I have 2 children (25 and 19) and they are not infected.
-  Please remember that once you start taking the treatment, don't stop and don't miss any dose.
-  Most important:  Don't even think about trying all these herbs and stuff that other people posted online.  All you'll be doing is to lose valuable time while the virus is destroying your liver and make the situation worse!

I personally knew some people from other poorer country who didn't survive due to the lack of treatment.  I hope you find some comfort in the fact that you do have a treatment that can prevent severe damage of your liver.

Hope you the best and a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
If you need anything else, please post in here so we can share info with other or private msg me.

Best Regards
Sigma9

PS.  My doctor told me there is a new medicine that is supposed to have less side effect than Viread.  But I have good luck with Virea and do not want to take unnecessary chance.
