Viread co-pay assistant program will end 12/2017 (for US patient)

I've just received a letter from Advancing Access about co-pay coupon program will no longer cover Viread by the end of 2017.

I contacted Advancing Access and they said that Gilead recommends the specialist to treat patient with a newer medication.

Anyone received a similar letter?  Any idea about the newer medication?

Thank you

I hear from the pharmacy that generic version of Viread is now available, much cheaper...
