WHY MY PLATELETS ARE LOW?

I was diagnosed with Chronic Hep-B in 1987. My liver enzimes have been high, platelets low for the last 6-7 years. No liver enlargement or spleen enlargement.  Never had any sign or symptoms! Any treatment available?

i have had chronic low platelets for several years.  if there is no spleen enlargement the dr. said it can be caused by your immune system reacting to the hepc. or in your case hepb?
after tx. now my platelets have gone back to normal range.
