both e ag +&- can be mutilating as well as inert and vary patient to patient. both are equally damaging if immuno response is there and both can be inert as well if immune system is not responding to the virus presence. However liver cancer susceptibility is higher in e ag +, Both can be treated efficiently by meds. e ag- are more notorious in terms of inflammatory response and can lead to more early fibrosed liver.

Almost a decade ago a doctor assured my mother that since she was hbeag -ve she probably won't need any treatment....now after 14 yrs she is undergoing treatment with tdf+etv....At that time(at the age of 13 yrs) i was  tested +ve for hbeag but now i have become hbeag -ve without any treatment(although hbsag has remained +ve).....that's why i am asking what is the meaning of these hbeag +ve/-ve?
If anybody knows the answer please reply.....Thanks in advance
