I started trying it today. Costs INR160 for a bottle of 60 capsules (approx $3.5). We are meant to take one or two per day. I think I'll take 2.

I went for a VL+LFT last week, still waiting for results. I'll keep my medical status public.

I'm not going to stop entecavir because of just ayurvedic medicine. These will act as just supplements.

Today I came across some tablets from Organic India, meant to improve the health of livers and kidneys.
Apparently, each tablet contains:
125mcg Phyllanthus niruri
100mcg Boerhaavia diffusa
100mcg Picrorrhiza kurroa

The other good part is that it also says "tested for heavy metals in compliance with international safety standards".
It would have been even better if they had mentioned which standards, exactly, but this is good enough for me ;-).

No one in my circle has Hep B at all... just one other guy was detected to have had a previous infection and cleared it. So, no, I cannot really answer your question.

I suppose if you can get your HBV DNA levels checked as often as you want (and can afford). I am certainly curious to know your progress not just in terms of how well you feel (which is definitely important) but also in hard medical data.

Currently on my medication with Divya Trust medicine ( Baba Ramdev ) .. Since I have started taking them atleast my digestion is far better now from what it used to be .. how has it affected my health will come to know only after the test s 5 months from now. Even if it keeps all my levels down ... what more can I ask..

Have you come across anyone who is on similar medication ?

It is medicine, but badly understood medicine. There is a lot of good info stored in ayurveda, about the benefits of various plant extracts. My personal take on it is that Western Medicine (the good side of WM) is scientific, but Ayurveda did not evolve with the times. The good info that Ayurveda has to offer has been long buried (by practitioners of Ayurveda) in myths, rituals and dogmas. Quite sad that most people do not see a difference between astrology and ayurveda. From what I know, the west see both these fields as bunkum, and Indians see these two fields as valuable endeavours. I am happy to see journals such as http://www.ethnobiomed.com/ coming up. I am happy to see them making attempts such as http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?tool=pubmed&pubmedid=3467354 but looking at how few test subjects they used, I would say they still don't "get" the scientific method.

I am going to try it as soon as I find it in a shop here. But I'll not be able to tell you much about it other than how it tastes. I have no intention to stop using entecavir, just because I use this :-).

Quite a few ayurvedic preparations use oxides of heavy metals. I definitely would not try consuming those, despite ayurveda's claims that the toxicity has been removed with some strange procedures. This one does not have metal oxides as ingredients, so I'm more open to trying it.

its an herbal treatment. it is not medicine.

its been published in 2007 so if there was any good to it, the 2 billion people they are talk about woulda heard of it..

would be nice for our indian friends on here to try it and let us know how it works.. maybe we can benifit with their trials and experiences..

I don't know how good this medicine would be, but I drink their (Organic India) tulsi teas. Again, I don't know if these teas have any medicinal effect at all, but they taste excellent :-)
