balaclde and pregnacy

Hi

My brother is chronic hepatitis B and has been taking Balaclude for about....7 months.
His wife is now pregnant.

I am a little concerned with the safety of baby,
is it ok to have a baby while his father is taking Balaclude?

I would appreciate your kind & careful answer...

His wife is clear.

But I still worry that some doctors suggest that they should avoid pregnancy while husband's taking Balaclude...(But some doctors say it's ok...)

I wonder Anti-viral drug like Balaclude can affect sperm.

Do you know about that?
If someone knows pls give me some information.

Is wife clear of the virus ? Get her tested for HBsAg and HBsAb.

If she is clear, there should be no problem for the baby. Get the baby vaccinated immediately after birth.

If she is infected she needs treatment as well and should be monitored by her doctor.
