can i give breast feed.

i m pregnant and my due date is 5th jan. i know its so far away. i didnt ask to the doctor yet this question. i scared if  he said no u cant give breast feed.i will go my mother's house after deliver the baby. n if i couldnt give breast feed then she will ask why u dont do breast feed then what i ll answer her. i didnt tell her i m hep B positive. i dont want to tell her ever.

You need to make sure your baby is vaccinated ASAP.  HepB usually is not transferred by breast feeding but I think honesty is the best policy:  let people you love know the truth so that they can protect themselves and help you too.

Congratulations!

Like cajim said, make sure the baby gets 2 shots at delivery: the Hepatitis B Immuno Globulin (HBIG) and the first HBV vaccination (its a three-shot series).  Once you've done that you can definitely breastfeed.
