Those of you that take it. Do you have any updates with labs to see the dynamics based on the dosing of this herb.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

"and felt very sleepy, probably due to low glucose levels.." ...low glucose levels actually keep you awake (because adrenaline tries to raise the blood sugar). That is why I can't sleep sometimes, on an empty belly :)
...maybe it was because the virus was inhibited by the plant and the immune system could react.

In my experience with supplements/pills (I as an idiot and took a lot) I have to say I listen to my body now more then any specialist. Even if they really know what they are doing, their recommendations are made for general public. each one of us reacts/is different. If my body tells me not to take it, I don't.

and felt very sleepy, probably due to low glucose levels..

I thought maybe it was a brand of chanca piedra, so I switched to tincture from other company but same thing.

on 500mg daily in between meals during the day I seem to be doing ok as far as tolerating the herb, tolerating means being able to do daily tasks without challenges.

as for if it has any benefits on HBV or not, will see when I do blood tests in about a month.

They recommend to take it 30 minutes before meals or 2 hours after. Like with antivirals.

I lowered the dose to 500mg daily of CP take ir bettween meals now. And it seems ok. Taking up to 4 pills a day was tough. I just felt weird and overly hungry.

Stevia does not raise blood sugar (actually I think it is prescribed to diabetics because of that). Maybe better take the CP with meals (that raise blood sugar)?
I also took it without meals and got blood sugar problems, but I did see an effect from it.

I started drinking chanca piedra. As for it lowering blood sugar you right. So I supplement with higher sugar intake from Stivia. Seemed to level me out.

As for what to expect I have no idea. I will just take it for a month and do labs.  If it lowers blood pressure to then it is good for me also.

There are 2 types. One is the bigger one and the other one is small n with a coarser skin n darker color. Choose the small dark green ones. I usually take just one, remove the seeds, slice it into small pieces and put to a pot n boil for a few hours n then drink it warm like tea throughout the day. It makes u hungry so remember to eat from time to time to prevent low blood sugar. Also check for blood pressure as it tends to lower blood pressure too. I did this continuously for about a month then change to a few times in a week while taking etv. While taking the tea my urine is clear n alt normalization was very quick. Abstract

The gene encoding MAP30 protein was cloned from bitter melon and recombinant MAP30 was expressed and purified. The human hepatoma G2.2.15 cells were exposed to different concentrations of MAP30. MTT assay was used to evaluate the cytotoxicity of the drugs and real-time PCR and Southern hybridization were applied to quantify extracellular HBV DNA and replicative intermediates intracellular and cccDNA in nucleus. HBsAg and HBeAg were assessed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The results showed that exposure of HepG2.2.15 cells to MAP30 resulted in inhibition of HBV DNA replication and HBsAg secretion. After exposed to three different concentrations of MAP30 for 2, 4, 6, and 8 days respectively, the inhibition rates of extracellular HBV DNA, HBsAg, and HBeAg of each concentration decreased significantly (P < 0.05). After 9 days of treatment, the inhibition rates of extracellular HBV DNA of the different concentrations differed greatly (P < 0.001). The MAP30 could inhibit the production of HBV (P < 0.01) dose-dependently. The expression of HBsAg was significantly decreased by MAP30 dose-dependently (P < 0.001) and time-dependently (P < 0.001). Lower dose of MAP30 (8.0 microg/ml) could inhibit the expression of HBsAg and HBeAg.

please elaborate more about your method for bitter melon and liver parameters.

I am also taking etv and a bunch of teas especially bitter melon so maybe it's not just my immune system. But really, anyone with deranged liver and no allergy to bitter melon shd give it a try. Just use the fresh green small ones. I know I'm veering off topic but it has helped relieve the bloating n clearing of dark urine tremendously. I wish there are more ppl with access to the fresh fruit to try it so that we can see if it also helps with lowering hbsag.

Well that is great report. It is either your immune system or the stuff really works. You should continue and try to monitor surface antigen maybe a lower dose. But indeed very interesting report. Thanks.

And btw you may even do peg interferon now you have a high chance of clearing hbv.

I have tried for a week(march 2013) and had to give up. I pound a few stalks (usually less than 5) and dump everything to a pot of boiling water for 20mins then drink them. It was one of the worst tasting thing ive ever tried. I felt extreme lethargy and couldn't concentrate on anything that I do. I also felt a loss of appetite and close to vomiting. It is hard to attribute any hbsag loss to chanca piedra since the time was so short but overall, hbsag on jan 2013 was >6400 iu/ml and by end of July 2013 hbsag was 445 iu/ml.
