confused with PCR HBV qualitative, PCR HBV quantitative and viral load HBV DNA
they are all options in my blood test paper. wich ones should I mark?
isn´t viral Load HBV DNA the same as PCR HBV Qualitative?
also, is PCR HBV Quantitative exactly the same as Hbsag quantitative?
as far as I know Hbsag can be measure qualitative and also quantitative.
Hbsag qualitative - only say id the Hbs Ag is present or not and it is used for screening
Hbsag quantitative - this is the one of the latest test for HBV, and express the quantity of HBs ag in ml of blood and can be correlated with the activity of the immune system and maybe with the number of infected cells. also this marker can be used in order to monitor the response to the therapy.
