There is a type of Hepatitis B disease called occult hepatitis B - negative HBsAg but positive hbvdna. This fits your case, but your hbvdna is unusually high for negative HbsAg, so I would definitely test again to rule out any lab errors.
One explanation for occult HBV is mutation in the S-gene thus, the surface protein produced escapes the standard antibodies used in standard assays. There are also other explanations.
Just my understanding.
OK thanks so much i will let know as soon as i got the new results
To stephencatlecrag.
My hbsab is negative. I will test for hbsag in a different lab tomorrow .i hve one more qts .do i still hve the virus in the blood if hbsag still reveals negatif in a second lab. Can i take a vacin with positif dna and hbsag negative. Thanks
what is the level of hbsab?if low it cannot stop reinfection.also consider that hbsag negative in blood does not mean it is in the liver and that after making hbsag negative you need at least one year on antivirals to get stable high hbsab and neg hbvdna usually
