since hbvdna is low, damage on liver almost nothing, alt almost normal, i would not start vired absolutely but i would try interferon and if hbsag/hbvdna will drop by 12-24 weeks make 1 year therapy otherwise stop it in 24 weeks.
we know interferon lowers cccdna, lowers hbsag, make hbvdna und, can make hbsag negative in 30% after 5 years from therapy, prevents liver cancer, you can stop it anytime, keeps working for years after you stop it in a high patients percentage

viread is good if you have more liver damage but with f1 you have almost no damage, it is a life treatment and you cannot stop it anymore and take sides you get on the long run, we don't have data on cccdna/hbsag on hbe negative so you might even get hbvdna und but worst cccdna/hbsag, there is no 100% proof it prevents liver cancer because trials are still on early phase (about 3 years)
viread virus eradication, hbsag negative, is 0% on hbe negative

you are missing the most important blood test before starting and choosing therapy, your hbsag quantity in iu/ml, if lower than 1500iu/ml (lower even better) interferon might eradicate virus

thank you for your comments but always consider that i am not a doctor so although i read all research and i have a good knowledge of hbv i have no clinical practice and no knowledge on other illnesses, so this remains an opinion.
also steven has very good knowledge on hbv and others so consider many opinions.

your age is missing but if you are not in the 40s i would not consider starting this therapy and would wait for more data on combos, from alinia and from replicor.i'd monitor hbvdna and fibroscan every 6-12 months and start when f2 damage is reached if it will be ever reached.

viread can have sides over the time on kidneys and bone mineral density and although these sides are rare and no reisstance has been found on hbv this might be a concern over a life long therapy.
there is also much data missing on tdf about cccdna and hbsag, etv has also been found not to clear cccdna and lower hbsag and it even increases hbsag in some, so if liver damage is almost nothing i would not start nucs.

if you have low hbsag less than 1500iu/ml you might try interferon, or wait to see our results on alinia
if you are older than 35-40yo there might be benefit from lowering hbvdna for cancer prevention

I am new to this forum, from what I am able to read on this forum, I found you to be more knowledgeable than most and most importantly help full than others, hope you don't mind helping me get some answers.

I got diagnosed back in 11/2008 with HBV

the reading was:
11/2008

Alt =67,
Ast = 31,
HBsAg = POS
HBsAB = NEG
HBcAbt = POS
cAblgM = NEG
HBeAB = POS
HBeAG = NEG
HBV DNA = 3.06M CPS
HAV ab =POS
HCV ab =NEG

3/2009 reading were

alt = 37
ast = 24
alp =43
HBsAG =POS
HBsAB = NEG
HBeAB = POS
HBeAg = NEG
HBV DNA = 599k CPS (114k IU)

1/4/2010 reading

HBsAg = POS
HBsAB =NEG
HBV DNA = 95K (39K IU)

4/12/2010 reading

HBV DNA = 690K (119K IU)

5/3/2010 my Doctor just sent me to do biopsy
the reading was

f1, minimum, inflaming~~ ect
Now he just gave me a prescription to get Viread 300mg, one per day and he wants to see me in month and do a DNA count (blood work)

My question is what is my option other than take this tablet or do you know anything about Viread?

Thanks
