my brother's HBV DNA is <20 & doctor told he is  in inactive stage,but his liver is inflammed &  he has got nerve pain in leg

hbeag -ve
Ant-hbe +ve
is there is any chance of risk?

i am very confused,,,pls help me

Even inactive carriers can get inflammation flares.  Sometime DNA goes up, so immune system respond to it, kills some of the virus in liver, causing ALT to go up, and thus DNA goes down.  It's a frustrating cycle.  Or maybe something else is cause the inflammation, such as HepA, HepB, etc.  As for his HepB, the low DNA is a good sign.  I think it's best to ask a MD in person to further investigate.
