I am doctor and recently tying to join residency trainining programme.I am HEP-B + on carrier status PCR + .viral load 95mIU. HBeAg _ ,HBsAg +. I want to ask which specilities will be suitable for me for training so that there is no chance of transmission to patient and no restriction on my practice.thank you.
Hepatitis B virus infection does not display significant signs or symptom unless one undergoes blood testing. Hepatitis B virus is not spread through food or water, sharing eating utensils, kissing, hugging, holding hands, sneezing or coughing. While undergoing residency program it is important to take universal precautions. Regarding the specialities surgical branches carry maximum risk. You need to take the decision after considering all aspects.Do write to me again with more queries.
Best wishes and regards!
