hep b is spontaneously curable in about 80% of the cases. In the rest it becomes chronic and should be treated with medication, some people carry the virus and does not suffer progression of the infection.  Hep b is quite contagious in its acute stage.  You could call the US state dept and see if they know the answer about Japan. My guess is they do, since they have a high incidence of liver cancer.
The vaccination provides protection for about 10 yrs.

It's curable. My brother-inlaw caught it and was given tx that cleared it.Also my brother had it and never tx'ed,but because of being hard headed it almost killed him!Myself I've had a series of hbv shots to vaccinate against it.

Hey both of you- noticed your concerns for me in other threads (they fill up fast lately). Thanks, actually I'm doing okay, just had the blahs lately. Should probably count to 3500 or somethin before I open my mouth around here, been cranky as all get out.
Tx,work & finance, life - fall prey to feeling like a hamster spinnin the wheel and gettin no place sometimes, forget how good I got it. Woke up on the the correct side of the grass today, had some fun with kid and nephew and got stuff done. Took 1/2 hr to de-ice the car but didn't even have one workin a few weeks ago. Gettin work in on 2 paintings on same day is a good sign it's time to boot out the blahs.
I'd mentioned a funeral last week for my 93 yro uncle. Day of the wake 90yro uncle in GA(both are dad's bros) had heart attack, passed away this Saturday. That generation is down to 6/12 siblings between 76 and 96.They are some tough birds. So been busy with family. Tryin to keep things simple around here so Dad has some quiet instead of my usual hectic schedule in and out makin myself and everybody crazy.

Actually been gettin more painting done last few days, I call it binge painting, that's helped a lot.
Hope you are both well, wish you good thoughts and peace,
Don

Hi,

I know we have missing each other, the post where you were is full. I've been under the weather this week-end too.  See that's the twin thing.  I took my third shot 2 hrs ago. Don't let it get to you we don't need the stress.

So how are you doing?  When will you be done with the Tx (month)?  I will be done in June, I think your around that time too.  It can't go fast enought.  By the way the spacecadet4 has been doing well, at lease this morning.  He thinks we are all in this circle of love.  I got to say it was funny some of the things early.  I guess I just needed to laught. Are you feeling better tonight? Maybe if we deal with him/her with LOVE we'll soften whoever.

I'm jumping from one suject to another, God I need sleep, been up since 4:30AM and don't know what I'm doing.  Hope you can make sence out of this.

The Beagle:)

I just recieved the bad news from a man I have been dating for 5 years... Never told me. Ugh. He has "dormant" Hepatitis B. Says it's non-transferrable, I think he is full of ****.

He was born with it- dad had it but mom didn't get it. Is that possible??? I am really upset, I've been with him for almost 6 years. I wanted kids so bad. I don't know enough about this virus to know what to do, and it's almost 9pm so I cant get a hold of a doctor.

I don't know what to do, can someone please help me and fill me in? Ive been searching for hours online for more information but Im not finding the information I want.  Maybe it doesn't exist?

I'm sorry I don't have the answers for you, most of us here have hepatitus (hepatitis) c. Maybe in the morning when more people are online, someone can direct you to that info. You may try reposting your question then-it might get missed down here.
I can tell you this when I first found out I had hep c , my worries and fears were far beyond what the facts of hep c are. Do not let yourself make judgements or fall prey to your fears before getting some facts. Speak to a medical professional.
Be Blessed,
Don

Antibody to Hepatitis B surface Antigen - non-reactive.

Hi Everyone,

I was born with Hepatitis B laying dormant in my blood system. Today I am down in the dumps because a guy who said he has feelings for me now says those feelings have changed due to the fact of my Hepatitis. The doctor said to me that in my situation my Hepatitis may never become active and it is highly unlikely for me to pass on this virus. My brothers and sisters were born with Hepatitis. Two out of five of us have been tested active. I found out about the virus when my little sisters boyfriend many years ago passed it on to her boyfriend of the time. She was devastated. It was lucky for her that her boyfriend was a rarity and protected this information from his family who alienated him at the time of his illness. He has since recovered and is fine. I am so tired and emotionally drained from it all. I am too honest not to tell a potential partner about it before sleeping with them. The hardest part is awaiting their reaction. The guy I liked said he was freaked out from it. He said he may feel different in about 1 or 2 weeks. Am I harsh to believe that if he cannot except and get thru this with me from day 1 then he is not deserving of me. I am not a piece of trash because of something I have no control over. Right now I feel so lonely and hurt by it all. My brothers and sisters are all happily married with wonderful partners. I am a single 32 year girl who without being modest can attract guys, but is that ever going to be enough to find a partner who is not prejudice of my situation. How and when is the right time to tell someone?? And how is one meant to explain my situation? The worst part is I know for someone who is trying to find out about Hepatitis B on the web it can only look like a WARNING protect yourself from this person or you will end of very sick.
