You need get viral load tested every 6 months (along with other tests like SGPT).
Post your complete hep-b profile (current eAg, eAb, viral load, SGPT etc,,,)

How long should you take this medicine - depends on your eAg status, viral load.

before i take the entecavir (baraclude) my HBV DNA viral load was 53,937,208 IU/ml way back 25 February 2008. Since then I have yet to repeat my HBV DNA.

SGPT results:                 HBe Ag:                 Anti-Hbe:
06/1708-112 u/l           positive (4.19)             negative (10.84)
10/03/08-125 u/l          postive (4.45)              negative (7.90)
11/17/08-117 u/l          postive (3.91)              negative (6.62)
03/02/09-86 u/l            positive (3.19)             negative (4.82)
06/01/09-53 u/l            positive (2.71)             negative (3.43)
09/01/09-93.76 u/l
10/30/09-100 u/l

my concern right now is that why my sgpt increased despite my regular intake of entecavir? are there other factors, aside from hepa b, that affect the increase of my sgpt level? is entecavir effective in stopping the multiplication of the virus?
hope to hear again from you.
thank you
