hepatitis b

my husband is diaognised with chronic hepatitis b a year back and he is under treatment now. i got vaccinated now. is there any chance of being infected if we have an unprotected sex.

You need to know his viral load to get an idea of how contagious he is. If he is under treatment his hbv dna is probably undetectable in such case there is no chance to get infected even through unprotected sex.

thanks for your reply. he is under treatment from 1 year, his hbv dna count is <20 IU/mL and he is still under medication. im more worried because im a feeding mother for 9 months baby. i was 5 months pregnant when he tested positive, i negative. since then we are not in contact.

thanks for your reply. i have been tested before. i had no immunity against it. but now i got vaccinated all the three doses. i just need to know whether i am protected now completely or not if i have unprotected sex. im  a feeding mother.

You should test your HBsAb (antibody to the HBV surface antigen). HBsAb level >=10 mIU/mL is considered protective.
