hepatits b patient

Hi,

My wife's blood test has shown that she got the hepatitis b.

tests shown no liver damage, and normal enzymes values and other values are also quite normal. Her hep b test report is as below:
HBsAg  +
HBsAb  -
HBeAg +/-
HBeAb -
HBcAb +

My question is why HBeAg is shown as "+/-" ? Would it tell if it's acute or chronic or anything else?
Tks...

tks for the reply chanthou! But my wife is not in a state to take antivirals! So your mom was chronic and got the antivirals? And what's the interpretation of having HBeAb, if u know?

My mom experienced the same before she becomes seroconverted.  My mom takes antivirals. It took about 3-4 months in HBeAg+/- before it becomes HBeAg - and HBeAb +
