hello there! I am not sure if you noticed the disclaimer that states there are no MDs in this forum, but there is one in the gastroenterology section.
You may also search the archives and see if the question was answered at some point by the MD. His pediatrician's office should be able to guide you also.
good luck

I had my A&B shot then one month later the booster and the last one is to be in March so I think it's six months for all of it.

I certainly am no doctor and would ask them because I had to have the A&B combo vaccine due to Hep-C it's not just the B vaccine so it might be different or something.

Thanks to this forum, I found out that the Hep B vaccine requires follow up boosters.  I did not know that at the time I got a vaccination for both Hep A and Hep B for not only myself but all of my family.  I had my vaccination in approximately 1999, and a month ago I requested a titer only to discover that I needed a booster.  I was told that those who work in the medical field require titers (to check if they need a booster) every three years.

This forum has been so valuable and informative to me.

I just had a buddy come back from Alaska, and he told me that it was beautiful. There was 6 of them in the group, and went out exploring on 4 wheelers. At one point, the group split, and took different paths. The second group came back flying up the path screaming, and my buddy looked back in a pnic to see what was going on.. To his suprise, there was a HUGE grizzly bear, or whatever bear that is they got up there running full steam up the path towards him.. He told me it was the scariest site he's EVER seen, and up close and personal that those bears look like an SUV plowing through the forest!!

Bundle up and watch them bears girl!

NYgirl - My daughter had the hep b vaccination when she was 15, had first shot then after two months the 2nd shot. The 3 shot was six months later. Hope this helps.

TatorTot- I started Tx in June 2004, by July they gave me a vaccination for hepatitis A,you get two shots for A next one was in December 2004.I have hepatitis C & B so no need for the b vaccination. Both my C & B were undetectable through TX. I went for my 6 month blood work today, praying they are still undetectable.
I did not have any bad effects from the vaccination during Tx.

I just finished my 2nd series of Hep B vaccinations.  The 2nd shot is given 1 month after the 1st and the 3rd shot is given 6 months after the first, therefore all 3 shots should be completed in 6 months.  60-90 days after completion you should be tested for antibody.  I was given the 2nd series of vaccinations because antibodies still showed negative after the 1st series...  :)

Regardless of the timeline suggested by the use of these vaccines, it is very important for those with an immune suppressed disease to check for antibodies after the immunizations have finished. Those with immune suppressed systems do not have the ability to produce antibodies for hep A & B, and may have a false sense of security, thinking they are immune.
