But again interferon is the key here.
Now.you guys see why in USSR they used to put people with acute HBV into hospitals for up to 3 months and give them interferon and high doses of minerals and vitamins intravenously. Everything was done to retain immune system in tact and not let the virus win the battle. And that was in 70's and 80's.
Now in Russia is done more or less passive palliative treatment of people to save money too. And subsequently there is a lot more HBV chronics walking around infecting other people.
But heaving said all that it is the immune system that is key factor at controlling and getting rid of hbv.
