Most common side effects is a sore arm, less common side effects is headache, loss of appetite, low grade fever, tiredness. they usually start 3-5 days after being vaccinated, and usually last for one or two days. If you have a allergic reaction to the vaccine(which is rare) you will know within a few minutes of taking the vaccine.  Two doses are recommended, the second dose is given no sooner than six months after the first dose.  This should keep a person immune to the infection Hep A for up to 25years. Hope this info helps!
