So there seems to be a very good possiblity that the the two hep b vaccine shots are not the cause of the yellow color. "Phototherapy" is also mentioned in the article, so that is probably why your doctor wants the baby in the morning sun.
That said, it also appears that bloodwork has to be monitored closely and that in addition to a total billirubin test, a "Direct Billirubin" test should be taken. The article states: "Direct bilirubin that is higher than1milligram per deciliter of blood may be a sign of a liver problem." So, definitely ask your doctor for the results of a direct billirubin test, and if not given, ask that the test be given. Then make sure you get your own copy of all your babies blood tests.
Depending on how much confidence you have in your baby's medical team, you could simply follow their advice or seek another consultation. Personally, I would lean toward a second consultation -- that's my nature -- but at a minium I would make inquiries outside of the hospital as to the consequences of two Hep B vaccines. I'm sure there isn't a problem, but I would want to know.
Sounds like everything will be OK, but can't hurt to look over these doctors shoulders.
All the best,
