"Inactive" is a bit misleading.  If you are surface antigen +  then you have active replicating virus even if the rate of replication is low.  At any time, the virus could escape immune control and become a problem.  When people hear they are "inactive carriers" they tend to be lazy about their twice yearly monitoring.  Not good.

Chances are you are just fine but post your lab results and make sure you continue to monitor your progress twice yearly.

I would totally agree with zelly. The inactive bit is indeed misleading. Look after yourself and that includes keeping on top of the virus by monitoring it regularly.

I don't undergone that test. But our family doctor say's that we acquired this virus infection through transplacental transmission to my mother. So since birth I acquired this hep. b and also to my older sister ang younger brother. So? it is really inactive-hep. b?how can I avoid it to become active? What are the contraindications of this?

--According to the guidelines, whether you should be monitored or treated depends on your HBV-DNA number also.
