is it normal

is it normal

i was detected for hepatitis B, a week ago my test results were (male, age-29 yrs, asian)-
sgpt (alt) - 2240 u/l,  bilirubin total - 4.10 mg/dl,  bilirubin direct - 3.49 mg/dl,  indirect - 0.61 mg/dl.

my doc advised me bed rest and few medicines, but after 5 days my result doesnt improve much, they were,

sgpt (alt) - 1415 u/l,  bilirubin total - 5.12 mg/dl,  bilirubin direct - 4.72 mg/dl,  indirect - 0.40 mg/dl.

as per my doc opinion bilirubin will rise upto certain level even after medication and once it has touched that higher limit it will come down, physically i am not feeling that bad, please tell me is it common to have such high level of sgpt (alt) and that bilirubin will rise even after nedication upto certain level...

Yes it's common for acute HepB.  Those labs you cited goes up at your immune system kills the virus that is in your liver cells.  These infected liver cells die so those lab numbers goes up.
