According to resources HBSAG can be earliest detected in the blood on an average of 4 weeks after exposure, and 1-2 weeks after the 1st symptoms of Acute HEPB will manifest like
* Jaundice
* Malaise
* Yellowish eyes
* weakness
* swollen joints
* etc
but it varies from person to person. So as soon as it is suspected that a person was exposed he/ she should get tested and vaccinated if HBSAG-negative.
Also, take note that the HBEAG status of a carrier also is a factor . HBEAG + people is more infectious thatn HBEAG - because they have significantly higher HBVDNA circulating in their body fluids most especially blood. Though based again on (online) resources, HBEAG + CHB people are easier to treat than HBEAG - people.
HEPB vaccination will be less effective on people that have the ff characteristcs
* overweight
* immunosuppresed
* older people
* males
If you get vaccinated before HEPB kicks in then maybe you will be able to avert it, or if you do get it what you'll get is a SUBCLINICAL HEPB.
you are 23yo and hbv can make no dmage to you, unless you are a drug addict with damaged imune system or take immune suppressive drugs you will clear it anyway with no symtoms or damage.
it is smart to get vaccinated anyway.window period is about hiv, hbv has no window period because it doesn t infect once entered the body it can take 2-3 weeks to 6 months to reach the liver and start infection so you have all this time to take hbv vaccine and forget about it
