this is the link to the diet, it is in italian but easy to translate
Grazie molto Stefano, I am on Vit D 10.000, as for creatinine and calcium I will let it know because I already made another test, and I am waiting results. grazie tanto
if you are on vit d3 10.000iu start with 50.000iu daily
to use this dose you must absolutely avoid any diary (milk, butter, cheese), nuts and bananas
check urine calcium, creatinine clearance and urine phosphorus by 1month.this test requires collection of 24 hrs urine, check instructions carelly
check serum calcium and serum ionized calcium
check intact parathormone
i d not check hbsag again because effects on immune system require 6months of stable pth at the minimum level of your lab, in your case is 16pg/ml.even if it goes lower than normal it is not a problem as long as it is detectable but best value is around 16 or little less.but if hbsag is very cheap you can also check it monthly
Anyway, how can I lower pth?
intact parathormone goes down if vitamin d is sufficient in the tissues and only goes up when vit d is deficient in the tissues.it is a better marker of vitamin d sufficiency than vitd25oh for patients with chronic diseases because there is receptors resistance in these cases.it is very rare that receptros work properly for us
what should I do?
what is your current vit d3 dose?are you on no dairies diet?are you drinking a lots of water already?were calcium in serum and urine always normal?
yes, first time I did, even I requested it, and doctor asked me why do you need it. I did another one to check calcium, but creatinine I didn't know(I hope they did). Anyway, how can I lower pth? what should I do?
My god, you know more, than my specialist
Grazie Dio
is this your first pth test?
from now on you can skip vitd25oh test and check only intact pth and unrine/serum calcium, creatinine, creatinine clearance, vitd25oh will not tell when u reach sufficiency with so much resistance
doctor said to stop taking vit D.
my how stupid, why you should stop taking vit d?your intact parathormone shows you are severely vitamin d deficient and that you have receptors resistamce.pth must be about 16pg/ml when you have vitd25oh 90-100ng/ml, so receptors are blocked and you are getting no vit d
at this point if calcium in urine and serum is normal and if you are on the no daries diet and 2.5l of low calcium water, you have to increase vit d3 dose until you see pth 16-20pg/ml
Hi Steff, I just got results of INTACT PARATHYROID HORMONE is 46, standard range 16-87 PG/ML, since the level of vit D is >96, doctor said to stop taking vit D. What do you think? Do I have to test another one? This test was 3 weeks ago, but I just got results.
Ultrasound I will do next week, and I will post results.
In my lab they need to dilute from the level 100ng/ml, so depends on the lab
there is a study about it but more data needed
Steff do you think is any correlation between levels of vit D and levels of dna replication? last year I had dna quant 1050 iu, now it is 800 iu. I am taking only vit d 10000. Before I had a lot of pain, since I begin taking vit, I don't feel it as before, very rare. Or it just go up and down by itself?
Just talking, thinking
intact parathormone is not thyroid, tell them intact parathormone
dilution is for vitd25oh levels when they get higher than 150ng/ml machines usually cannot read values
Hi Sorte, May you explain better How should I ask,say to them?
thanks,
when I asked to check also para-hormone thyroid, she(physician assistant)asked me why?and she didn;t do it. So stupid doctors, I will recheck somewhere else
remember that if you supplement d3 and you expect it may be high you need to tell about it in the lab, so they can dilute your sample, otherwise you'll get result like: > 100 ng
as we said in many posts vitd25oh does not measure vitamin d in tissues and is not the type of vitamin d found in tissues.since almost all of us hbv carriers have problems with vitamin d receptors you must check vit d by intact pth levels combined with vitd25oh
in a normal person when vitd25oh is around 100ng/ml intact pth falls at minimum range of normal, most labs have norm range at 10-72pg/ml and minimum range is about 10-20pg/ml
Sorry, I didn't type, now it is 96>
