sorry you are positive for hep B. youre not the only one .. feel better.

most people with chronic hepatitis B live a normal life. a long normal life. all depends on your current status, blood results, liver function, and ofcourse the way you life your life. a healthy one with a healthy diet or ..you know or else.. just a life.

by the way, in your few threads you posted , you did not list your hep B results. we'd like to know your current readings so that someone can help you learning about your current status. if you dont have them please run a blood work and give us these details : ( hbsag, hbsab, hbeag, hbeab, hbcab) and your liver profile ( ALT and AST ).

as for opening a new thread every time you have a question, it would help put together a coherent idea of your status if you put all these questions in one thread so when someone browses into your thread , they will have one solid piece of info on everything you're going through. please use this thread or one thread you start to be one we can all follow. scroll down to "Post Comment" at the botton on the thread to reply.

as for your family members, its a matter of a personal and ethical choice. some people  choose not to tell and some do . if you choose to tell then educate them as it isnt the end of the world and like  a friend on here says :"most people with hepB die with it but not because of it" so your chances are ok.. again all depends on your current blood readings.

and yes refrain from smoking if you can, refrain from drinking.. over aqll be liver friendly with everything that goes into your stomach.. your liver is the most vital organ and you want to give it a chance to fight this off and liver a healthy life even with hepb.

good luck

usually the medical field has firm restriction against hepb so if you decide to work in the medical field here in the us or in many countries its a no. other industries are less strict and may not bother.. depends on what industry you want to work in.

as for working abroad, some countries will not even grant you a work visa if you have hepB. For example , u can visit Canada as a tourist but you wont be able to work in Canada or apply for immigration in Canada if  you have hepB.

this is one country of many countries that are not too friendly with hepB. usually if a country has a socialized health system, it becomes harder for people with hepB to work or apply for become resident/citizens of that country.. not all countries but most
