more confused than ever? reading all of this just gives me more questions!

I think I am glad to have found this site.  However I am more confused about my Hep B diagnosis in 2005 and now have more questions.  My tests as of October 2008.  Hep A Ab, IgM (negative).  HBsAg screen (negative). Hep B Core Ab, Igm (negative).  I became very sick in 2005, hospitalized for 8 days, out of work for 4 months. (was able to keep all of that a secret, not sure how, perhaps a lot of lying).  Since, I have been tested every 6 months with the same results as above. (I think?) It is my understanding that I have chronic HepB. and require continues testing and in fact I am contagious to others if not careful. (P.S. being contagious and having this secret has caused a great deal of stress, I have unfortunately pulled back from a very active social life prior to illness). What is the DNA testing? I do not recall this on any of my tests!  Is it possible I may still receive the antibodies after so many years?  Being that my HepB has been undetectable for the past few yrs. am I less contagious?  THX

Your HBsAG = negative, that means you don't have chronic Hep B, in fact you don't have HBV now at all.  You might have been infected before but your immune system cleared it all.  All your worry is a waste of time and a waste of your brain cells.

What!!! If this is true I am ecstatic, my Dr. continues to test me, looking for a positive antibody reading.  My Dr. states that the positive antibody reading will be the final clearance of this virus and until then it could flare up....

If you still have HBsAB negative, now is a good time to get vaccinated.

cajim he is Hep B Core Ab, Igm (negative).  which means he is most likely never been infected with the virus.
usually when you clear it spontaneously you somehow become postive for the core antibody indication a past infection and  clearance..

GMAN911, you dont have and dont seem to never eve rhad it - the virus , that is .

you do need the vaccine though...get immuned my friend.. :-)
