my status

As u all know I accidentally stepped on a hypodermic needle I took following tests.
Hepatitis b surface antigen negative at 92 days
Hepatitis c ab negative at 92 days. Are my tests conclusive hepatitis b and c

thanx dr  .will a single hbsag test be good enough after 6 months?

Hi, the incubation period (the time between initial contact with the virus and onset of the disease) for hepatitis B ranges from 45 to 180 days. So, you will need to get tested for 6 months to know about the infectivity status. However to protect yourself have yourself vaccinated against Hepatitis B and check Anti Hbs levels. If it is above 10 IU/L it is considered to be protective. Regards.
