old needle prick

Today I was  pricked by an old hollow intramuscular or i/v   needle when I was passing  near a clinic .the needle was discarded and it was lying on the road and  unfortunately somehow went through my slippers  and went deep in my heel .I pulled the needle it was dry didn't look like freshly used .  I let the blood flow for a while then used spirit patch to clean . now guys I just don't have words to express my situation .what do u guys suggest. I took anti tetanus shot as the needle was on road. What are chances of hepb and hcv?what measures can I take

Hi Steff I was actually Googling that today about the testing for HIV.

I know there's a whole load of theories about how HIV came to be.

But my only question is how did the virus get discovered?

I had a test in Asia it was negative then when I read up on it after my friend  who's an MD said the same thing about the tests I thought what a waste of money time and stress. So when I got back to Europe heptologist  wanted to do HIV test I told him "No"  I explained my reasoning he didn't look happy but hey like you say its a mess... Steff I do appreciate your input on this forum very informative. Ever considered becoming a heptologist yourself? lol

that is why all tests come with booklet saying"you can't diagnose hiv by this test" in a trial they would lose huge amounts of money if not stating that in the booklet....
the list of false positive for hiv is just huge, just google it....afterall it tests for antibodies and not the virus or the antigens of the virus

and also getting infected by a needle for hiv is extremely difficult, it dyes immediately, same for hcv while hbv is very durable

as for hcv i am not expert but the test has very high sensibility, there is a lot of chronicity at any age but this is fully curable today

tests for hiv are so low sensibility, check booklets that come with the tests with indications for sensibility, in the end those booklets say that hiv infection cannot be diagnosed by those tests they sell......plus montagner, the researcher who discovered hiv today says that with good diet and low oxidative stress the immune system is healthy and can get rid of hiv in weeks....

so about hiv i think it is just a mess used to make money, keep in mind they never isolated and purified...that is all tests come with "you can diagnose hiv by this test" in a trial they would lose if not stating that

i personaly dont care of testing for hiv since tests have no scientific sensibility and even stated by the producer of the test...for this just look on youtube for "house of numbers" and interviews to montagner and so many other nobel prize scientists to make your idea of the facts

as to the vaccine and immune globulins just take them, even if hbsag is already positive and the infection started they would make no harm and in some cases might even help fasten the immune response

Final question if I take pep for HIV can it make any adverse effects with hepb vaccine or globulins ?  Do I have to take vaccine and globulins both or having any one of them suffice?  If hbsag is positive then I shouldn't take vaccine or globulins? I hope I'm not annoying u. Thanks again

there are as many hepatitis viruses as the alphabet and so many reasons for jaundice but anyway as long as hbsag is negative you can have vaccine and immune globulins, you can also have them later after 1 week and more because they make no damage (except wallet) and can only help in case the virus is in already

hbv infects bone marrow first, it is thought it hides or tries to hijack immune system to start the infection, this period can be few weeks to almost 5 months, so you have plently of time to build hbsab by vaccine or immune globulins.hbsab blocks entrance of hbv in hepatic cells so go buy vaccine and immune globulins if you dont mind the cost.
positive tests are not indicative of "not taking vaccine/globulins" but are just indicative you can save money

difference in vaccine  and immunoglobulin

vaccine will make hbsab antibodies to protect from infection and immune globulins are hbsab antibodies already to protect from infection if hbsab are formed too late

only hbsag?
it is not enough to test that only you have to test hbsag, hbsab and hbcab igg and igm to have a picture

no difference and you ll clear hbv anyway even if no vaccine, anyway you are fully on time and if you dont mind to spend the money for the vaccine you dont need to wait for any test

if you want to save money check the tests above and if any positive you had hbv already and cleared, hbv has no symptoms

have hbv vaccine with immune globulins and check if you had hbv already in the past and of course cleared it.also keep in mind thathbv gets chronic only at birth when there s no immune system, adults all clear it by immune system

as to tetanus i dont know if it is useful, if you had vaccine in the past i guess it is useless
