we have the same problem.its good there are communities like this.my former doctor have given me HBIg and it didnt get rid off the virus.he told me that i should have it to increase AntiHbs but sad to know when i had my hepa b profile again, my anti HBs did not increase.right now,im just monitoring my AST and avoid fatty food and alcohol.
what you need to do first, like the good guys on here explained to you, is have one or two more tests. the first test is called a liver function's test. this will test your ALT and AST levels. hopefully you're in range.
the second test is the Viral Load test. your gastreo or hepatologist will order this test to find out just how much virus is in you ? knowing your liver function reading and viral load will help you know where you stand with this virus. you may not even need to be treated at all, however, a periodic monitoring will be very essential again wait again, only your viral load and liver test will determine this.
you are a chornic carrier. i saw you are going back and forh with this question but like bram44 explained to you - you are chornic. your chances of every clearing this vis are very very slim.. normally chronic carriers have a chance of 0.05%-2% chance ( half a percent to two percent ) with or without treatment so dont count too much on that.
as we tell newcomers on here that people with chronic heB will most likely die with hepB but not because of it.
your baby, assuming he/she got the vaccine within the first two hours after he or she was born, are most likely safe. i know bram44 or sharp7 mentioned to you that they can get a boost shot but unfortuantely with babies ( under 5 r even 6 years old , sometimes a bit older ) antibodies dont usually show so even though they are vaccinated and immuned, their test results show no antibodies which will drive their parent into panic but i wouldnt panic if your baby didnt show antibodies to hepB. if he does then good for them but if not then run the test periodically until antibodies show.. consult with their doctor as well so that they know and follow the proper procedure to make sure he or she is safe and immune.
good luck and congraulations on your new baby
No - there are very good anti-viral drugs to control the virus, there is no need to feel hopeless. Some acutes may clear the virus, but others become chronics if they fail to clear the virus (5-10% of adults).
I do not know much about herbal remedies. There are few people in this forum trying them - but there is no conclusive proof whether they work and effective for everyone.
There is no doctor who can guarantee to clear the virus. They certainly will tell you the drugs will reduce the viral load and probably eliminate the virus.
ahh.. do chronically infected people were hopeless to clear this? i mean, unlike the acutely infected they can kick the virus out of their body depends on their immune system..
i've researched recently that the ginseng and the chinese medicines can help clearing the virus. (but not all).. do u think it can help specially for those who are chronically infected? does it work even slowly or takes a long time?
i thought i can still clear these hep b.. coz that's what my doctor told me.. i've been trying to call here since last week coz im really really want to take the shots. coz she made me believe that everything will be cleared. until now, she never answer my call. hate her though.
No. Chronic hep b - means chronic. Once a person is infected and the virus is active after 6 months, the person is considered chronic until the virus is cleared.
forgot 2 ask last night. e-negative chronic hep b means acute? thanks a lot
What you did should protect to most extent. Have baby tested with advice from paediatrician and see if a booster shot is needed.
Only way to find out is to get tested may be after 6 months of final shot.
ok.. thanks for the advice. i really have to see a doctor next week.
anyway, after giving 3 shots to my baby ( i just gave birth this may '09 ) is it sure that she's safe from hep b?
Your Anti-HBc IgM non-reactive and Anti- HBc (total), this implies you have e-negative chronic hepatits b.
Most of the people diagnosed goes through same feelings like yourself at first. Given you are e-negative, your viral load may be low and a inactive carrier.
First you need to get viral-load test and then discuss with your doctor on how to proceed. You can do pretty much everything - as long as your kith-n-kin and people close to you are protected (or you take precautions).
and what are the things i should do to clear it..? i cant do a lot of things because of this.
in my case, do u think is it still acute or chronic? im so depressed..

Vaccination would be of no use to you: you already have HepB.
