HEPATITIS B VIRUS QUANTIFICATION  (VIRAL LOAD) – COBAS TaqMan

Test : quantification of HBV DNA from patients plasma or serum by standard procedure on Cobas TaqMan
Equipment: COBAS TaqMan
Limit of detection:20 IU/ml
Measuring Range:20 – 170000000 IU/ml
Specificity              : 100% with a confidence limit of 99.54%

CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE
1. HBV is the most common cause of chronic liver disease worldwide. It is a DNA virus that is transmitted primarily through blood exposure and sexual contact and from mothers to their children
2. The clinical manifestations range from subclinical hepatitis to symptomatic hepatitis  and in rare instance fulminant hepatitis.  Long term. Long term complications of hepatitis includes cirrhosis and hepatoocellular carcinoma. Perinatal or childhood infection is associated with few or no symtoms but a high risk of becoming chronic
Methodology
The COBAS AmpliPrep and COBAS TaQMan is an automated in vitro nucleic acid amplification test for quantification of HBV DNA.
A variation less than 0.5log within two readings is not significant.
GGTP                          43.0         8.0----78.0 IU/L
Bilirubin total            1.10         0-----1.0   mg/dl
Bilirubin direct          0.36         0—0.60   mg/dl
Bilirubin  indirect      0.74         0.10-1.0   mg/dl
SGOT                           27.0         0-45  U/L
SGPT   HIGH               44             0 – 40 U/L
Alkaline phosphate  78.0         40-129 IU/L
Total proteins            7.95           6.3- 8.6  gm %
Albumin                       5.07          3.7- 5.6  gm %
Globulin                      2.88          1.80 – 3.60  gm %
A/G Ratio                    1.8            1.10- 2.20

BIOCHEMICAL METHOD

ANTIHBcAg-Total antibodies to hepatitis B Core Ag
Anti HBcAg- total anibodies to hepatitis B core Ag- (Serum)
RESULT: REACTIVE (0.0009)
Refrerence range NON REACTIVE - GREATER THAN 1  &REACTIVE LESS THAN 1

For my abdomino Pelvic Ultrasound everything seemed normal

Thanks everyone.

The test were done six months ago. I guess I have to change my lifestyle now. I ocassionally drink and smoke. I found out about my status after being rejected at a job medical test for an intelligence outfit. I wish I has this info earlier. I intend to to go on an artesunate, vit d3, immune booster  dosage. Kindly advise.
Ofcourse my urine is mostly dark and I have pain in the right Lower ib cage area. Then again its been like that since I had jaundice at age 12. Now I'm 29.

Honestly I'm scared to death. I guess I have to adjust my lifestyle now.

Any affordable drug affordable in nigeria?

As stef2011 commented that your viral load is very low, below 20 iu/ml, this is very good. If you are HbeAg negative, then you may be in an inactive state (low replicative state) and treatment may not be needed at the moment. Your ALT(SGPT) is very slightly elevated, but that may be be due to other factors such as fatty liver, drinking, or vigorous exercise before the test. In any case, best to repeat the viral load test (I know it is expensive), or at the least the ALT test to see if there are any changes in 6 months time.
Just my opinion.

there is no hbvdna detected but this says nothing about the infection in the liver check hbsag quantity in iu/ml and hbeag/hbeab and fibroscan

Stephen sorry about that.....
The following where omitted
HBV DNA quantification - COBAS TaqMan ...below 20 IU/ml
Hope to hear from you and others soon.
Thanks!

I don't see any number for your viral load (hbvdna) nor your HBeAg status.
