please help with test results

recent results:
HBsAg +
HBeAg -
anti-HBe +

HBV DNA  6800 IU/ml
gentype B
precore mutation
ALT 32  (normal range 8 ~ 69)
All other liver function in normal range.

I believe that I was anti-HBe positive when I was 20 yr old. Liver function was always normal in the past. HBV DNA has never been tested. I think the doctor overlook this since my LFT was normal. I will have a liver biopsy soon. How do you think the severity of my status? I am a 42 yr old man. I didn't and don't drink alcohol.

When I research the internet, it looks to me the asian males are at more risks according to statistics. Do you know these statistics considered the fact that asian males (especially chinese) have higher alcohol consumption?

Thanks

I don't drink any alcohol at all, which is good part of the whole picture.

Our cases were very similar, I had times when my ALT and AST were higher than yours and my HBVDNA was mostly higher than yours.  Given this and if you do not have symptoms I guess your liver biopsy results will be good.

Alchohol should be avoided at all costs.

Thanks for your response! I will talk to my doctor in details regarding treatment. What should I spot to make sure the doctor is competent in treating this type of conditions? Should I go for a second opinion?  I definitely will update with my liver biopsy results and discuss my doctor's treatment here.

did not have any symptoms. How do you manage the cirrhosis?.......

only fibroscan detects cirrhosis with maximum accuracy, in my case the damage happened for a long time so nodules developped and they can also be seen by ultrasound but detection of cirrhosis must be done at earlier stages by fibroscan

entecavir to block hbvdna and reverse cirrhosis hopefully in a couple of years
nitazoxanide to boost immune system and eradicate hbsag

what matters is the fibrosis stage, f0 none, f1 some, f2 mild, f3 severe treatment must be started immediately, f4 cirrhosis
inflammation is not very important to choose if start therapy or not

I have done livr biopsy and have doctor appointment in a week. I have called my doctor but was not able to get detailed results. I was told that the results from biopsy is not bad whe I asked if it is very bad. What does that mean? The doctor is a gastroentrologist. Is he a right doctor? He sounds like knowledgeable.

you have to wait for biopsy or fibroscan to know where you stand, keep always monitoring by fibroscan i ve been hbe neg since 19yo, hbvdna und most of the time and normal alt most of the time, but never tested with fibroscan, in 2002 i was f2 biopsy and in 2009 i was cirrhosis by fibroscan, so never trust blood tests only check yearly by fibroscan too because although less often you can develop cirrhosis even with low hbvdna, low alt
