please,please need help( hepatitis b)

I went to the lab on my own to check my health, HIV, hepatitis B and C.
Hepatitis C Non-Reactive

hepatitis b- HBS ab - 2.4 IU / L (range <10)

I asked to take the test for hepatitis b and workers mistakenly did test for antibodies hbsab.

Now I again took blood for HBsAg and wait for the results of tests.

so my question is, what means this low level of antibodies,

Does that mean that I once had a virus HBV that have created an antibody, or is it normal not reactive test result?

does healthy people who are not vaccinated and had never HBV can have this finding HBs antibodies?

im waiting for hbsag and if negative ,Does that mean that I have no virus and that I am healthy?

please anybody who can help me...im so sad..i just wanted to check myself for my own peace ,and for my new girlfreind,to be 100% sure to not infect her with some std and now i dont know what to do... :(

It looks like you are hbv free. If you want to ensure that you never had any contact with hbv you can ask for an anti core antibody total test. It should be neg as well.

Now it has reappeared,  probably a software glitch. A similar situation occurred a few days ago.

You need to read the results of the antibody test more carefully. You do not have 2.4 milliunits/ml.  You have LESS than that, which most likely means you have NO ANTIBODYTITER at all.

The test just has a lower limit of detection, or sensitivity, anything below that is just background noise or MAYBE a tiny titer, but mostly just the reagents giving minute signals.
So they report the results as below the limits of detection. So many patients fail to see the less than SYMBOL and assume this detection limit actually is their titer. IT IS NOT.  There were several postings here lately, all struggling with the same problem.

thanks a lot man for your advice,I appreciate it.

I'll let the test results, maybe someone were to have a similar situation.

I googled a bit and I found data for ECLIA testing method,

all results below 4.3 IU / L are treated as negative and there is no presence of anti-HBs,
Results of over 12 iu / l are positive, between 5 and 12 are indeterminate  and should be repeated.

the lowest level of detection is 4.3 IU / L
score below 4.3 means that antibodies are not found.

Whatever that means....

Thank you very much for your advice on, doing a very good job here,

good people everywhere :)

all the best

It is my understanding that if you have never been exposed to the HBV virus, your HbsAb should be 0 iu/l.

If you test hbsag negative, it would mean you have recovered completely. Yes, you don't have the infection anymore.

hm..this makes sense..

i really  can not remember if I was sick..

im sorry but just one question..

someone who has never been in contact with the virus would have antibodies 00 ?
and if my HBaAg test is negative,Does that mean that I have not  hepatitis b and no longer need to worry? and im hepatitis b free?

If you were not vaccinated against HBV, then the most likely explanation of your HBsAb result is that you were infected previously, without any symptoms, as many people do. Although it is possible to be both HBsAg and HBsAb positive, it is still most likely that you had recovered from the HBV infection and your HBsAb titre had waned over time.

HBsAb < 10 iu/L is considered to be NON-Protective.

You will have to wait for the result of your HBsAg test.

im 29 years old male and i can not remember that i had hepatitis b..
maybe i was asymptomatic..
i ask that lab for this antibodies and operater  says
any level lower than 5ml iu/l are negative result..

but why then i have 2.4 if im negative...what that numbers mean..

I am not a doctor but i guess u had taken hbv vaccine or u had hbv which clear now and made hbsab due to own immune response. Dont worry your next hbsag test will be non reactive as u have hbsab lvl
