pre core mutant HBV

by Yiz, Oct 22, 2004 12:00AM
I am 42 years old. Last week I had my blood results; HBV DNA 600copy/ml, HBeAG -, antiHBeAg +, SGOT and SGPT normal level. This tells me that I have pre core mutant HBV. Am I need to get treatment immediately? and What medication is the best in this case and what is the success rate? I have been checking my liver enzyme tests since last year in every three months and they are always normal. However, in ultrasound, my liver is a bit larger (16.5cm). I have been using Diclofenac (Voltaren) and sometimes indomethacin due to neck and lower back stiffnesss-pain for over ten years and I have stopped to take these medications since last month thought that they could harm my liver. perhaps they caused my liver larger, and I really do not feel pain and swallon liver on the upper side since I left taking these medications. Moreover, I know that NSAI agents supress prostoglandins and I wonder if supression of prostoglandin causes reproduction of HBV virus or pre core mutant HBV virus in the blood during ten years or more on NSAI.
All the best.
Yiz.

those are quite specific questions you have there, perhaps a web search on possible effects of this med can help? or contact the manufacturer of the med for further info.  THis forum is a message board for patient to patient support, no physicians are here to monitor questions.
good luck
