regarding health insurance

hello,

i don't have a health insurance, but i am planning to get one, because i've been diagnosed with chronic hep b. i've been offered a 1-2 year contract job starting this May. i' would say i'm otherwise fit and healthy...

would it be reasonable to get health insurance for chronic hep b, even if i'm still healthy and there's no negative symptoms related to hep b? if it is, which type and company would be good?

how do you know you are healthy? the fact that you are feeling well and not ill doesnt really mean the virus isnt acting or your liver is ok etc..

not trying to scare you ofcourse but even if healthy or inactive carrier you still need to be on top of this disease.

now, have you done any tests for your liver ( liver panel ) ? do you know what your hepB profile is ? do you know your DNA count ?

if you know all this info, please share with us so that we can understand your current status

as for insurance, find out an insurance company that accepts  pre-existing condition. hepB isnt something that insurance companies like to deal with so good luck with that . you will probably end up paying higher premuim .
now if you are accepting a job then there is no need, in my opinion , to get your own insurance since most companies offer insurance benifits to their employees and with a group insurance there is no such thing as pre-exisiting . everyone accepted . so i would wait and get my insurance through work if i were you.

good luck
