serum albumin

Hi,
I have had a hepatitis b test and looking through it i found that my serum albumin was 3.4-5.4
i know that this is normal levels but i would like to know what it actually is and does it have anything to do with the test or is it for something else.
Many thanks in advance.

what do you mean less or between?

only end stage cirrhosis have albumin low less than 3.4 (usually much lower) so this test has no use because it detects damage too late

the only tool to monitor liver damage every 6 months to follow improvment or worsening is fibroscan
