since i was young

Hi,

I'd just like to get an opinion on my chances. I may have had chronic HBV since birth and had no problem w/ it till now, i have no idea of how severe my condition was before this test. I just knew my family had a history of HBV. High SGPT levels prompted me to get checked.

I'm currently treating with baraclude, and here are my pre-treatment results.

SGPT/ALT 156.63 U/L

HBsAg w/Titer (CMIA) 2,268.414 Reactive
Anti HBs (CMIA) 0.000 mIU/ml Non-Reactive
HBeAg (CMIA) 90.496 Reactive
Anti HBe (CMIA) 5.265 Non-Reactive
Anti HBc IgM (CMIA) 0.059 Non-Reactive
Anti HBc IgG (CMIA) 11.912 Reactive

HBV viral load 29,041,312 IU/ml
169,020,436 copies/ml

Thanks :)

i do believe i'm with one of the countries' best. although new screening methods and equipment seem to be still lacking here. an expensive condition we have, i hope you're having better luck there :)

Hi
I am in the same situation. I probably got the bug in ivory coast when I was a kid.
you seem to have a lot of viruses. apparently, keeping them in check is a good idea to decrease to develop cirrhosis and cancer. A good hepathologist will help you chose the best way of treating this. The strategy depends largely on your blood tests. is there anyone you could see in your place?

dunno if it's available here though.

no it isn t, you have to order from india nizonide500 by lupin or nitarid500 by cipla (active ingredient only nitazoxanide 500mg pills)

hbsag quantification not available in the philppines but necessary to see if hbv is clearaing or not.hbvdna will only tell if baraclude is working and you are safe from resistance, if hbvdna still detactable fter 6 months there maybe resistant risk, if detactable after 12 months high resistance risk

i'm 33 right now. i guess it's really just about time to start treating.

i was wondering the same, it didn't specify unlike for Anti HBs which noted "mIU/ml".

i just started, on my 2nd month right now ... will inquire about alinia from the doc. i've been really interested in that basing on your other posts. dunno if it's available here though.

thanks for the nice info :) so i guess it's irrelevant if you're a long time chronic carrier or a more recent one when it comes to treatment response. right?

are chronic carriers from childhood harder to treat?

they ususally develop no liver damage but it is better to monitor especially after 30 yo.cirrhosis and liver cancer becomes relevant after 40-50yo if hbvdna is detactable

HBsAg w/Titer (CMIA) 2,268.414 Reactive.........titer of what?the reagent?this test is useless unless the number is in iu/ml

what are the results after 6months of baraclude?add alinia to baraclude, hbsag might decline especially by adding alinia since you are hbeag positive
