test results

Back in 1988 I was tested for hepatitis and it came back positive type B, I was not a druggie, but I was having unprotected sex with one guy and I do believe I got it from him..Was he a druggie? and then here it is 2008, I was retested , because this one Dr. says lets retest, actually 2007, neverther less his reports came back saying I never had it..How can that be?  Does reminants of this disease last in your blood? I was jaundice, liver pain, blood test confirmed hepatitis, but could it have been type A, because at this time in the factory I worked at  type A was going around, could type A lead to B..I am really trying to figure out what in the world went on  1988 test confirmed type b, 2007 blood shows no signs that I'd ever had it, which I know is not right , because of how sick I was in 1988

Good idea, I should get retested for a third time...cajim thanks , I have had those tests done. What I am thinking is getting my results from 1988 and see those results..Will type A show the antibodies like type B. The Dr. from 1988 is deceased and I have no idea were my records are? Oh well I guess I will try a new Dr.  thanks

Obviously, one of the tests was wrong.  Do another test and see what happens.

If you were previously infected you should show antibodies.

A cannot lead to B.

Testing will answer your questions instead guessing.

Test HBsAg, anti-HBs, HAV
