undiagnosed virus PLEASE HELP!!

undiagnosed virus PLEASE HELP!!Hello all.  I am a 28 year old male.  Some of you may remember me from several months back.  Well, I'm here again because my symptoms still persist, and I really need an answer as to what's going on with me.  For those who are not familiar with my story, here it is:

In early March, I received oral sex from a stranger (I also had intercourse with her, but it was protected by a condom; no breakages, slip of condom, etc).  About 3 weeks after this incident, I started to get a fungal infection in my groin/anal area, which would itch from time to time, along with oral thrush.  My genitals also turned a red/pink color.  At 5 weeks post-incident, I had all my std work done.  Everything came back negative (Heb B, HIV, HSV 1 & 2, gon, clam, syph, etc), however, the fungal infection was confirmed by a swab test.  I was prescribed a fungal cream and tablet, but they didn't seem to help.  I was also getting headaches at the front of my head daily.

At the 10 week mark, I started getting swollen lymph nodes in my groin and armpits, along with unusual excessive sweating from armpits and palms of hands, even if it wasn't hot outside.  I did not have a fever either.  I also noticed I was having a tingling and pins and needles sensation in my left hamstring down to my foot.  Every once in a while, if I'm sitting still, my muscles will twitch.  This mostly comes from my legs, but occasionally it is in my arms and chest as well.  I went back to the doctor to have another full panel STD check again, including HIV.  The only thing that changed this time is that they picked up a Hepatitis B surface antigen with a 17,000,000 viral load, which I'm told is extremely high.  The only problem is they didn't find any antibodies for it, and my liver function tests came back completely normal.  I even retook my LFT/ALT 2 weeks after that, and they were still fine.  The doctors were stumped with my unusual blood work.

So, I decided to just let things play out and hopefully kick this over time.  All last month, for about 4-5 weeks, nearly all of my symptoms really mellowed out with the exception of the swollen lymph nodes.  The headaches were gone, no noticeable redness on my scrotum, didn't itch down there (not enough to complain about anyway; I understand we all have an occasional itch there sometimes).  Oral thrush and nerve tingling in leg, if they were there, were hardly noticeable.

Then, all of a sudden, about 9 days ago, my symptoms came back!  They weren't as bad as the initial symptoms (for example, the sweating on my palms and armpits aren't quite as excessive as before).  There is a bit of redness on my scrotum, but not as bad and doesn't itch like crazy as it did before.  Oral thrush is back also, along with pins and needles in legs and twitching of muscles/nerves.  I went to another doctor to get my lymph nodes checked out; they've been tender for about 3 months now.  Doctor examined them and agreed that they were slightly swollen, but told me not to worry about it for now.  I argued that I thought there were a couple in my groin that felt 'hard', but he said he's been working with lymph nodes for 43 years and disagreed with me.  Btw, they're about the size of a pea.  There are 2 on each side in the groin area.  He couldn't even feel the ones in my armpits, which is understandable because even I have a hard time locating them.  They're just painful from time to time.  He told me to give it a few more weeks, then he could do a biopsy on them.

So, here are my list of symptoms to date:

1.  Oral thrush (btw, the thrush is just a white coating on my tongue; it's not the typical thing I've read about on the internet where it looks like lesions/califlower or bleeds when scratched off).

2.  slight redness on scrotum (genitals/anus doesn't itch near as much as it used to)

3.  pins/needles sensation in nerves down left leg, along with muscle twitching

4.  swollen lymph nodes in armpits and groin

Okay, so here are my questions:

1.  Has anyone else experienced these symptoms and found the cause of it?

2.  What could the Hep B surface antigen with 17,000,000 viral load and no antibodies mean?  Especially if my symptoms are not classic Hep B symptoms?

3.  I've read a lot about oral thrush online, and almost every link goes straight to HIV.  Well, I've been tested twice now, and I've been told by all my doctors and other online experts that I DO NOT have HIV.  I also understand that thush in HIV-infected people doesn't happen until a later stage.  I have read that oral thrush can be due to 'viruses', but that's all it says.  Not one website identifies these possible viruses.  Does anyone have any idea of what kind of virus can cause thrush besides HIV?

4.  If I have a lymph node biopsy, will this identify the problem?

This has been going on for about 5 months now if you include the start of the first couple symptoms.  I really need some answers and for this to be overwith.  Please help!  Thank you, and God bless.

Also, is there any other tests I should ask my doctor about?

Aks the doctor to do a viral profile and also ask him about the indications for starting treatment.
I think the viral load is soo high that it has suppressed your immune system, that is why you have recurrent  fungal infections. If it is kept under control you may not see the symptoms again.

The last time I checked my hep b viral load it, which was about a year and a half ago, it was 120 (sorry, I don't know the units it's measured in, although I ought to).  I am going to retake the hbsag test shortly to see if it has cleared.  The last LFT/AFT test I took about 8 months ago showed everyting completely normal.  I also took a bunch of other tests having to do with the liver here recently when I was complaining of green stools (bile), and all of that was normal as well.  Either way, I'm going to retake the antigen test to see if it's still there.

Yes, HTLV raises CD4 counts to really high levels and also sometimes inverts the CD4/CD8 ratio.  Mine, however, is not out of normal ranges.

All of my CBC tests always come back normal as well.

Did you get the red scrotum before or after antibiotic treatment?  Mine was before.  I don't have any pics of the oral 'lesions', but I can try to upload one here.  It's pretty hard to see anymore as it's less pronounced than before.  It's basically just a dull, little, brown dot on the inside of my lower lip about 2mm in diameter.  It burned for about 4 or 5 days when I first got it, but went away and just left a discolored mark.

I am in the U.S.  The woman I was with was of Afircan decent, although I believe she was of mixed ethnicity (European perhaps).

Keep well, VeteranB.

Lymph node biopsy may not show anything. Better do a bone marrow. But again it has to be a level 3 lab that is looking at it. Regular hospital pathologist may not even know what too look at or have the tools and know how.

But you and me sure had somewhat similar symptoms. Do you have pics of your oral lesions?

And what country are you in?  And that woman that gave you all this who was she? Ethnicity etc? .

Regarding HTLV it can raise cd4 counts over stimulate the immune system that can cause and immuno suppressive effect.

Plus you have 17mil hbv dna. That needs to come.down. So treat it. I was too also fixated on HIV. But our HepB is nasty also.

My lymph nodes were swollen only slightly for 2 months. Scrotum did turn red the skin and pealed in about 30 days after exposure. I remedy it with tea trea oil. Nothing ever came back.

But the tongue thing stayed for years. Vitamin D3. Ascorbic acid helped. Sodium bicarbonate have almost cleared it.

I did cd4 count. Cd4/cd8 ratios all was in 1000 range. In fact I was monitoring these markers myself. Because with HIV that is the only thing.that can sometimes suggest there is a virus in rare cases.

HTLV yes I tested with immuno blots. Even had  some viral bands present. One I.think. but then it went away. They told me it was cross reactivity with hbv antigents. Hep B people sometimes react to htlv bands. So I was told. So believe me I checked by what was available several years back.

I had total of about 40-50 hiv tests :(  it is horrendous experience mentally to go through those tests. But I went for it because I wanted to know.  And hairy tongue /thrush was killing me to look at. It is a bizzare symptom.

Do you still have the Hep B, or did it clear?

The doctors who told you that you may have HIV and they can't find it are most likely frustrated that they can't give you a proper diagnosis, but they had to tell you something other than "I don't know", so that's what you got from them.  After 6 years, if you had HIV, your CD4 count would be, at least somewhat, low.  Maybe you should get it checked.  I did, and it was 1,500, which is the high end of normal range.  I'm not worried about HIV.

Did you ever get tested for HTLV as well?

Wow man you are describing almost identical symptoms to what I had in 2006. This is how I have learned I have hep B. And is the reason I took 50 HIV tests. I was doing even typing specific PCR tests. Oral thrush that was the main symptom for me that stayed. Although it did came in after antibiotics. They have totally missed my HBV or an infection that has activated it.

Anyway I had a bizzare list of symptoms  hit me at day 5 or 7 after I had sex at massage parlor. I too used a Condom. But the reality of it they dont protect. In my case it was the 24 year old Korean chick. What was your case?

The symptoms that we both have/had are consistent with HIV or HTLV viruses. But  according to Russian virologists they observed cases like this in some people with HBV. And call this disbiosis.

I had mixed opinions on this. Some have told me I have HIV and they cant find it . Others said it is HBV. I have seen 50 or more doctors on this after so manyHIV tests past 5 years they have stopped testing me.

The oral symptoms are nasty. Or God! I remember the first tine seeing it it changed me.

What helped me? After about 6 years with this tongue thing that turned black. I followed what people here have recomended.

I take 20 000 iu of vitamin d3 daily. 6 grams of liposomal vitamin c. I take half a tea spoon of baking soda daily in warn water. I also take wheat grass shots 3 a day. And drink oxygenated water. It has given me a tremendous boost in energy levels. And my tongue has cleared up. Almost.

All my swabs they did for candida were negative.

just browse older posts or use search, i think 2 or 3 members used it.one with very low hbsag by use of tdf for many years added vit d and goleics drops.hbsag cleared but hbsab has not formed yet.his nagalase is still high 1.8

this does not mean gcmaf can clear hbsag, not enough time on it, not enough hbv carriers had trials on it

Stef-

I've read a bit about gcMAF; very interesting stuff.  Do you have experience with it?

your problem is compromised immune system, not bugs from outside, we live with trillions of bacteria and viruses in us because humans are mostly made of that, not human dna

so if the problem is your immune system start to check why it doesn t work:
nagalase test (europe and Us only)

vitd25oh, for immune system to work properly you need at least 50ng/ml in your status you need high end of normal which is 100ng/ml.for some 150ng/ml is normal as well

use gcmaf to rebuild your immune system

I have the same exact problem. I'm in misery with thrush red bumps all over fatigue and pale diareah chronic and doctors don't believe me and won't look because blood tests don't show. A few years ago I was told I had chronic hep b but when we ran blood work for it it was negative.

Can anyone give me any ideas on what my HepB tests mean?  Could it be that the test mistook another kind of virus for HebB?

Also, is there anything I can talk to my doctor about regarding general tests to see if my immune system is functioning normally?   Or some test to see if there is a viral infection present or something else wrong with me?  What general tests should I ask him about?

I understand that thrush can be caused by taking meds, especially antibiotics, but the thrush/scrotum fungal infection happened before I was on any meds.

And yes, the doc says wait a few weeks, but please remember that I've had these for 3 months now.  The thing that really concerns me is the hep b surface antigen with no antibodies and no liver complications, with a 17,000,000 viral load.  What could this mean??  Also, my symptoms are not those of Hepatitis B.

1.  Any idea on what is going on with my test results?
2.  My lymph nodes are tender, but only slightly swollen....is this good or bad (respectively speaking)?
3.  I don't know if you're an expert in Hep B, but have you ever heard of these kinds of test results before?
4.  Based on my information I listed above, along with the symptoms, any idea on what could be going on or what I could possibly be tested for?
5.  Any other general tests I should ask my doc about?  Sorry, I don't know all the medical terminology of tests, but I'm talking about things like white/red blood cell count, for example.....just general health tests.

Thush CAN
be caused from taking medication.  Sounds like your doctor
has it under control.   I have had swollen lymph nodes in my armpits and
groin at different times in my life.  It wasn't anything and went away with
time.  Its when they don't go away that it could be concerning.  Your doctor
said to wait a few weeks.  Like I said.... sounds like your doctor has
it under control.
