use of BHT for blocking HBV reinfection of healthy cells

BHT is an antioxidant and common food preservative, approved by the FDA for food, oils and fats. Over 25 years ago, a paper was published in the journal Science showing that BHT could inactivate herpes simplex and other lipid coated viruses in vitro (In lab dishes).(1) This was followed by another paper published in Science showing that BHT could prevent chickens from dying of Newcastle disease.(2) The herpes virus and the virus that causes Newcastles disease have a lipid envelope. That is, the nucleic acid core of these viruses is coated with a fatty membrane. Viruses of this type require an intact lipid membrane in order to penetrate cell walls and infect living cells.

BHT appears to work against such viruses by disrupting their lipid membranes making them vulnerable to the immune system and imparing their ability to penetrate human cells. BHT also removes binding proteins that the virus uses to penetrate cell membranes. In addition, BHT acts as an antioxidant neutralizing free radicals that damage cell membranes and cause inflammation. It is believed that the destructive action of many pathogenic viruses involves the destructive action of free radicals on cellular membranes. More recent studies have confirmed the anti-viral activity of BHT against many different human and animal viruses including CMV (cytomegalovirus), (3) pseudorabies (4), genital herpes (5), HIV (6) and some strains of influenza.(7)

A few of the viruses that have a lipid envelope and may be affected by BHT include herpes simplex I, herpes simplex II, herpes zoster, ckytomegalovirus, west nile virus, HIV virus, influenza virus, hepatitis B and C viruses, avian flu influenza virus and the SARS virus. Remember that BHT has not been clinically tested and approved to treat these infections.

Thanks for sharing the info. I do take Chanca Piedra. But am a bit scared to mix BHT with it.

Everything I read on BHT and CP seems to be positive. But there is a lack of real lab tests posted.

the onlyuseful test is hbsag quantitative in iu/ml, hbvdna viral load is useless to see if infection is clearing

hbsag is not quantitative so the doctor or the patient does not know hbv at all, totally ignorant about it

hbsag positive, this bht is doing nothing

Here is but one of many BHT success stories. What is different about this success story is that this person was prescribed BHT by a doctor in India:

Here is the most up to date BHT treatment for hepatitis C and B:

100mg to 350mg of BHT taken with water on an empty stomach once or twice a day. The dosage varies for each person. Weight is an important factor in determining dosage. Fat content of a person`s body is another. Generally the more you weigh and the higher the fat content of your body the more BHT you need to effectively treat a viral infection. Many average size men have done very well with 250mg of BHT taken twice a day. If adverse side effects occur and persist, LOWER the dosage of BHT used. That is the treatment.

Supplements that have been shown to work well with the BHT treatment are:

1. A regular type multi-vitamin and mineral pill once a day.
2. A regular type vitamin B complex pill.once a day.
3. Vitamin B12 in a dosage of 1mg [ milligrams ] per day. 1mg is the same as 1,000mcg { micrograms ].
4. Vitamin C in a daily dosage of between 500mg and 1,000mg per day.
5. The lipid monolaurin. Unsure about dosage.
6. The herb chianca piedra seems especially helpful in treating hepatitis B. Unsure of dosage.
7. Sodium selenite in a daily dosage of 50mcg [ micrograms ].

Also, and importantly: Continue taking any doctor prescribed medicines or drugs. Very many of the people who have had dramatic improvement with this BHT treatment are taking a doctor prescribed medicine of one type or another.

SUPPLEMENTS TO AVOID. Do not take:

1. Milk Thistle and it`s extracts. Degrades the treatment to the point that it no longer works.
2. Grapefruit juice. Degrades the treatment to the point it no longer works.
3. Colloidal silver
4. Hydrogen peroxide taken internally. Hydrogen peroxide is a REACTIVE OXYGEN SPECIES. It will make the BHT treatment NOT work.
5. MMS [ Miracle Mineral Supplement ]. MMS is chlorine bleach, a very powerful oxidizer that will react with BHT in such a way as to make the treatment not work.
6. Vitamin E supplements. Yes you NEED some vitamin E. But a normal diet provides plenty. Vitamin E supplements have been shown to enhance lipid coated viruses ability to replicate and should be avoided for that reason.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For best result stick with those supplements I listed that have been shown to work well with the BHT treatment. Vitamin B12 is an especially good one.
That is the treatment that works consistently well based on the substantial feedback available.   ...Oscar

the only reason i did not belive him is because he told me he cleared his antibodies, wich makes no sense i said to him are you still positive for hbcab and do you have hbsab, he said no its all gone wich suggests to me he does not know what he is talking about.

maybe bht could work there is only one way to know for sure. get baseline tests and take it for a period of time then retest and see if hbvdna and hbsag quantity has dropped.

i would try it but i am taking nitazoxanide right now and will be taking pegylated interferon soon so i dont want to mix.

good articles, thanks..  we have to try it. Concept if it is true is great.

What if that guy Oscar that runs around forum really did cure his HBV with this..

The problem is the  lack of specialists.. that we can consult on this.. Even lack of researchers with whom to team up and do independent studies..

anybody wanting to try and report on bht or monolaurin?
of course hbvdna must be undetectable and hbsag quantity monitored to see if there is any real effect on hbsag.

it works by removing the shield.  people with herpes take it, and if you look up "bht coldsores" or "bht herpes" you'll find some success stories.  it's a natural antioxidant, but also synthetically made.  some people online with success.

http://www.amazon.com/LifeLink-BHT-250mg-500-Capsule/dp/B00028MQ4S

i think the idea is the same as some of these new drug trials.  once it removes the lipid shield of the virus, then your immune system can detect and destroy.  i'm not sure how effective it is, but it seems like some people have had really good results, while others don't.

if you want to research this as an option, i think you want high vit d3 level.  just my guess.
