doctor advised for blood test in
which HbsAg got POSITIVE (7.5).
So, doctor again suggested to
do more test and those tests
results are:
Tests are carried of CMIA on
Architect i1000SR immunoassay
system)
Total Bilirubin : 0.2 (0.2-1 mgs%)
Direct Bilirubin : 0.1 (0.1-0.25
mgs%)
Indirect Bilirubin : 0.1 (0.1-0.75
mgs%)
SGOT : 18 (10-40 U/L)
SGPT : 16 (8-35 U/L)
Total Protein : 7.8 (6-8 gms%)
S. Albumin : 4.5 (3.5-5 gms%)
Serum Globulin : 3.3 (2-3.2 gms
%)
A/G Ratio : 1.4 (0-1.9)
S. Alkaline Phosphate : 157
(40-130 U/L)
HbsAg : 7.01 POSITIVE
antibody to Hepatitis e Antigen :
0.02 REACTIVE
HbeAg : 0.452 NON-REACTIVE
HbcAg (Antibodies against
hepatitis B Core) : 10.86
REACTIVE
IgM : 0.04 NON REACTIVE
Doctor has told me it is a
chronic hepatitis. Is it ? if so can
it be controllable?
Also can we go forward for
cataract operation?
Also can anti body be
developed by taking treatment ?
Waiting for prompt response…
and hope I will have it soon..
Thanks for going through this
topic
Is it transmitted through sharing
utensils as well as towels ?
How much the family member's
and other's have on risk ?
Do all family member's should
do this test?
Is there any cure for the same.
Also he is suffering from
epilepsy and taking 3 tablets of
Eptoin each day. He have alergy

Hi stef2011

Sorry to come into your conversation like this; but talking about epilepsy, I have a 34 yr old brother who has been epilectic since childhood. He has been on daily doses of tegratol and epanutin through out.
Now I think the prolonged use has affected him. He speaks slower, acts more like my 8 year old nephew and I think hasn't got much hope. Could the prolonged use have caused this and if so are there any solutions?
If he were to go for counselling, would anti-depressants be contraindicated due to his daily doses of tegratol and epanutin?

we have to find out if it is the drug or hbv to make liver damage but for both cases hepatitistechnologies antioxidants can block or prevent damage

nac and glutathione, liposoml or injectable, can prevent drug toxicities.they are the same substances used in case of radiation exposure to save a life or in chemical wars

Hi..
u r friend might have taken those tablets because of epilepsy due to fever. In my father case he is suffering from epilepsy due to accident. A kneel has stucked into his head.

I have already shown the same to neurosurgeon but she told me that, it can be operated. But can't say the consequences after the operation.

thanks for great response to me...

hope i have found a friend to whom i can share such thing.

Have a great day and great, happy life to you.

is taking 3 eptoin tablets

see if you can avoid taking those drugs.i have friends with took pills only in case of an epilepsy episode.they never took daily pills
although i dont know how severe is your father try to avoid thos pills as much as possible

Should i give hepatitis A vaccine?
if hav is rare in your area you can avoid it and just be careful cleaning food.i dont know if hep a vaccine can lower immunity while on active hbv so me and my sister never took it bt hav is extremely rare in italy

check if you can afford hepatitistechnologies products, if not apply for compassionate program or just check ingredients in fibroguard and add them in the diet.
blackk rice, berries fruits and blue berry, cucurmin, green tea must be the base of his diet.check also other igredients in fibroguard

you need open wounds to get infected but you must be vaccinated, the chances you already had it are very high in india, i dont think you can avoid being infected without vaccine, hbv is too spread in india

thanks for reply,
my father is suffering frm epilepsy due to accident in his childhood. Since from last 45 yrs. he is taking 3 eptoin tablets per day for that. Somewhere on net i have read that longterm use of this tablet may cause hepatitis.
Should i give hepatitis A vaccine?
After his cataract operation by mistake i have touched his lower lip (inner part). Quickly i have washed my fingure. Will it cause infection to me? Previously i have askd my doc then he told me such thing wil nt cause the infection. But on net i have found that salvia too can cause the infection. If so then why it do not spread with mosquito?
Eagerly i m waiting for ur reply.
This forum is the place where i can share my worries which i can't share with my family member's.

your mother has probably antibodies already, many married couples show one person negative but sensitive tests showed they are imune already

anyway just test hbsab titer (the immunity antibody) after you finish all vaccines, this is necessary because some fail at vaccine

my father is taking EPTOIN
sorry i dont know this drug

hi,
me n my mother have taken a single dose of engerix b on 27th. On net i have read that the person who is in window period then he do not show HbsAg positive. So, the vaccination in such cases are not fruitful.
So hw to cross check this abt me n my mother?
Also my father is taking EPTOIN since frm last 45 yrs so is HbsAg infection is may b of that?

Thanks for ur reply stef2011...

I have gone through your previous replies to the posts where u have mentioned the addresses of fibroscan centres in India.

Me and my mother have tested for the same and both are Negative to HbsAg and HbsAb. So we started taking vaccination and one dose has completed today itself.

So would like to know the other ways transmission of this disease except the blood contacts and sex.

First of all my liver specialist has told me that this infection of my father may have came from my grand-mother as she have died due to Ascites in 1971... So, if it is then it should be reflected in my mother's blood test atleast in a HbsAb.

I am going to take my father for cataract surgery as we were planned for the same and then go for fibroscan.

thanks for ur kind reply and hope this kind of reply will save many lives in future.

both alt/ast and US are very very poor sensibility for liver damage, only hbvdna undetactable and normal alt/ast less than 30 every 3 months might be secure to exclude liver damage but this is very stupid since fibroscan monitoring can exclude liver damage.

liver damage and alt have very poor correlation, as you know from posts i regressed all fibrosis of my cirrhosis with alt between 40-50 while many cannot regress with alt less than 30, there is just too poor correlation
same thing about heptech products their antioxidants can regress cirrhosis despite abormal alt/ast and high hbvdna...liver damage just correlates to oxidative stress not the virus

so in the end monitoring by fibroscan is the better tool, fibroscan+US+alt/ast+hbvdna is even better (this is what i do...)

crosses his specified limits then we will go for Liver Biopsy.
biopsy is useless when fibroscan is available, plus the risks that can rarely reach death and the false positives of biopsy....

i am sorry your sepecialist looks from 10 years ago, not from 2011...not good

So when someone have an acute hep B then there are more chances to have liver damage..
no acute hbv makes no fibrosis and no liver damage, just inflammation.

But when I gave the same report to one of MD and having specialist in Liver Diseases, have told me to take regular blood test for SGOT and SGPT for every three months. Also gave an advise to do ultrasound of his liver for every 6 months. As he told me, my father is having chronic hepatitis B and until now there is no damage/reaction to his liver.

If the SGOT/SGPT > 1.5 times of higher limit then I have to inform that specialist. He told that he can start giving tablets to my father at this moment but it is useless, whenever SGOT/SGPT crosses his specified limits then we will go for Liver Biopsy.

Also somewhere I have gone through that if patients defending power to hep B virus is less than that of the virus, it will not cause any damage to liver.

So when someone have an acute hep B then there are more chances to have liver damage..

is it true?

I think u r talking abt HBV DNA test which I didn't carried out.

waiting for ur kind response and hope u will give guidance to me in positive way.

thanks for going through all this stuff but really I am in worry and I  think this is the right platform to share wht I know...

7.01 without unit is not the hbsag quantity but just reagent used for test, the number is useless.

Hi
thanks for ur reply...
it's my mistake and it is tested on Abbott ARCHITECT i1000SR Immunoassay System.
Ya as I stated the test results are Only in POSITIVE (7.01). They didn't have mentioned its measurement unit.

waiting for more details on the same...

Where exactly test to be done in india?

which HbsAg got POSITIVE (7.5)

useless test check on other posts where hbsag quant iniu/ml by abbott architect can be done in india, there are 2 or 3 places to do the test.this will tell the stage of hbv infection

also all other tests are useless, he needs to check:
liver damage by fibroscan , there are a couple of hospitals in india with this machine
liver cancer by ultra sound

after this tests are done it is possible to say the stage of infection and the degree of liver damage and so we know if a therapy is needed or if hbv is just benigne
