that's what they told my Mom, she died. ... bunch of bs... the treatment causes lots of side affects, even death.
For me PIS operates like chronic fatigue syndrome...if I push I crash and a crash can be a week or longer. Agree with Scottie.
hi, we talk about interferon.
What did you treat with? Are you talking about harvoni?
the docs will never acknowledge and if they would, prescribe drugs to improvve thhe symptoms. it will be hard to find someone who treats the cause rather than the symptoms alone. being your own 'scientist' helps. and finding an open minded doctor to help with the symptoms also helps,,,
I agree I complained about the brain fog, did lots of research, talked to others, I would not tell someone you will feel better in x months because no one knows. The doctors all say there are no long term sx despite what you can read about tx. I was just trying to say what helped me. I would rather try what I cab to improve than wait for a doctor to acknowledge. good luck!
HI, the problem is that the perpetuation of 'the side effects will wear off after 6months, year?' is like chinese whispers. There are far to many people that have genuine issues post treatment to support this throw away statement. I keep my GP updated via email with research papers that are relevant every now and then so she is aware there is an issue and kinda keeps it mindful if she see's someone else like me. Pharma companies don't want to admit the truth of what there drugs do longterm, they make millions out of us.
Hey Ho!
Most of the docs don't know the post-Tx Sx. Do listen to your body! It takes a long time to recover, but recover you will. Remember to keep up your water intake and good diet. I followed up with all my specialists after Tx. Opthamology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Dentist. I had so many Sx that we all are monitoring and I am recovering from. It does get better. If almostsixty hadn't told me about her doc ordering a dexascan, I wouldn't have asked for one, and found out that Tx had zapped my calcium and vitamin D.
So be your own advocate, you will get better!
keep pushing.. keep pushing what? your muscles will not work, that happens.
That was supposed to be '...strong MEDS...' Of course, strong mess kind of works, too. ; -)
I disagree with you doctor. Yes, there are some things and some times you should push through, BUT I truly believe post these strong mess, our body needs a little love and support. The exercise that makes you feel good IS good, but when your body just says rest, pamper it. We are still rebuilding stamina, not just strength, from years of of attack on our liver and that affects the whole body.
Now what you said about the other things, I do believe as we cut down and move away from the stress that all of those cause, we will feel better.
Keep on keeping on!
Blessings,
Pat
Thanks for the laugh, Frank
I think he is partially right. I could "try" to not sleep so much even when I feel tired and I could spend less time with all the details, advice, unneeded medical appointments, research and the emotional and financial drain that puts additional stress on an already pretty stressed out person. I do get exercise every day but mainly just walking and sometimes a swim and it does make me feel better for a bit, especially when the walk is in the middle of a canyon with a creek running through it. Gives me such peace and serenity and my hound loves it - a big smile on her face the entire time!
My doc thinks I need a shrink and it's all in my head. He hasn't diagnosed me with anything.
These last few days make me just want to quit Kaiser and him forever so that's what I plan to do and that will be a whole other list of things to do to make that happen
This doctor is a dinosaur and I would fire him and find one that has kept up on the info that everyone agrees on even in the past two years - PIS exist!
WoW! I think I just came up with a great logo! PIS EXIST!
As to your being tired if it is not chronic fatigue syndrome and just being tired then I may agree to some extent that doing what you can do is probably best. With my CFS and meds I always push myself. I have a lot of stress in my life and physical exercise, or daily activities help to reduce stress for me.
But without my CFS meds and supplements I would be in a near coma.
Has your dinosaur doctor misdiagnosed you as being tired or do you have chronic fatigue syndrome?
Best of luck in your search for a knowledgable quack!
