Liver discomfort after exercise.

Curious- any body with post exercise liver discomfort ever run it by their physicians? I've been post treatment (stage 3) undetectable for 2 years now (know I had HCV for at least 25 years prior) but still get some discomfort after aerobic exercise. Does tend to resolve somewhat if I keep up regularly say 4 times a week but doesn't go away completely. And if I have a 3 or 4 week lay off and hit the treadmill for 1/2 hour (like today)... the hepatic area aches all day. I've also hypertension and need to exercise for that (weight control/blood pressure regulation). Any comments greatly appreciated.

The liver has no nerve endings and therefore does not experience pain.  The encasing area around the liver can experience discomfort for various reasons including expansion due to an enlarged liver.
I'm not a Dr but getting your weight and blood pressure under control will help with your liver related issues.  You may want to approach your Cardiovascular needs in a more static or less ballistic approach.  Some examples of how to do that would be using a stationary bike instead of a treadmill.  An elliptical would be better then trying to engage in a circuit class for instance.  Instead of sit-ups do the plank or bridge.  You want to approach your work out with the idea of doing less weight bearing or pounding on the joints.  With free weights or nautilus machines go with low weight and high repetition.  You can still achieve the same benefits, but try and approach it in a different manner.
The key is to "Listen to your body". If your experiencing pain you should stop.  Working out should NEVER be a painful journey.  No one can exactly tell you what's happening to your body in a support forum.  We can only give you our suggestions in hopes of helping.  A Dr is truly the person you should see as only then will you find out why your having pain.  I sincerely hope they can guide you and sorry that this is happening.
Please keep us posted.

Doubtful liver related? Common sense would indicate that someone with a stage 3 liver (bridging fibrosis) and pumping a much greater amount of blood through it... would have at least during that time.. induce portal hypertension and overall increased stress to the organ. there is no doubt it is hepatic related pain; my question was more related to is this exercising creating more problems tan it's solving with weight and blood pressure control.

Personal Trainer here.  In my 20 + years it's doubtful that the pain your feeling is liver related.  Aerobicaly or otherwise.  Would tend to believe it's more Gastro related.  Gall Bladder issues tend to mimic liver pain and can become exasperated with exercise.  You may want to keep a food diary and experiment prior to your work outs.  When in doubt a GI may help you find the answers.
Good Luck

I have off and on pain in that area. Am almost 11 months eot now. I think mine tends to be gallbladder pain. I had forgotten about the apple cider drink, and had some this morning, and it is quite amazing how well it works. 1 Tb apple cider vinegar with "the mother" and I mix it in a glass of apple juice, drink half an hour before eating, helps to keeps gallbladder calm. Not sure if it will help you, but easy enough to try!

yes I have constant pain in that area-it started about a year pre treatment after 17 years of hcv infection and went away during treatment only to return with a vengeance 3 months post treatment. My liver consultant dismissed it as being post biopsy pain but it started a year before I had my biopsy. I am 8 years post successful treatment and the pain is still there, sometimes a dull ache sometimes a stabbing pain.
