Lower than normal ALT and AST after treatment

Just finished triple therapy with Victrelis a month ago. Will have post treatment viral load test in July. I am so anxious to know if I achieved SVR.  But my ALT and AST of last week came out to be 8 and 12 respectively. My nurse said its below normal. Does anyone know what it means. Is it something to worry about? Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks a lot for your reply. I got a reply from my nurse saying its good to have these numbers as it means no inflammation. Great

Depending on the test used, the lower 'normal' limit of these tests can actually be zero. Your nurse may have meant 'lower than average' rather than 'lower than normal'. Since these tests measure the number of liver cells being damaged, lower usually means better. The exception is in the case of severe cirrhosis when a lack of healthy liver cells to be damaged could cause a low reading.
