hepatitis C cause joint pain

can any one tell me why hepatitis C causes joint pain? my grand father is suffering from it and i dont know what to do.

Some of the symptoms I have from Hep C 1 are extreme itching of my skin and my joints mainly my knees feel like they are sponges. I also have CLL leukemia and my doctor told me that both the cancer or Hep C could be causing this.

Hepatitis C causes inflammation, not just in the liver, but all over the body. Hepatitis C can cause many extrahepatic (outside the liver) medical problems. One of these is joint pains.

Has your grandfather been evaluated by a competent physician? It may be a good idea to make an appointment with a good Rheumatologist and have him evaluated for Rheumatological and Autoimmune problems, many of which cause joint pain. Once examined and evaluated, then a treatment plan can be prescribed.
