I'm not sure why you are getting up an hour earlier in the morning to take your thyroid meds. You can take it with the Riba when you eat your first 20gm, then take Incivek 20min-30min later.
You must also eat something solid or with a bit of fat with your Ribavirin. It also needs some substance to help it metabolize. Riba needs to be taken every 12 hours, so if you take your first pills at around 7am, then Riba again at 7pm.
It worked out, for me, that I ate yoghurt at first rise, a little snack of fruit at about 11am to tide me over til 3pm meds, where I had a good meal. At 7pm when it was time for Riba, I had soup of something light, then yoghurt again for 11pm meds.
This varied of course, as some days I was a bit beat, but I stuck very strongly to a routine.
Also, I found sitting up after taking Incivo for about half an hour lessened any gastric reflux I may get.
Good luck.
Welcome to the forum! Hrsepwrguy gave you excellent advise about timing it with the food. It is really critical for optimal absorption into your bloodstream, which is where you ideally want it all, and the fat makes a huge difference Definitely set alarms for them all, as tx progresses your memory and concentration will probably both decline (temporarily). I needed an alarm for everything! The Incivek is so hard to get through that you really have to be super-vigilant to do it all exactly right, as this is definitely not something you want to fail, not unless you are a total masochist. Read up a lot on the possible side effects so you will know what to do if you get any if them. You are fortunate to be treating in your 40's, as treatment often seems to be easier at younger ages. Congratulations on taking these first steps to freeing yourself of this virus!
I agree with hrsepwrguy that taking the Incivek pills every 8 hours is very important. You do not want to leave 10 hour gaps between pills during which the blood level of the Incivek drops and resistant varieties can multiply.
I took my Incivek at 6 am, 2 pm, and 10 pm.
Yes the time and fat requirements of incivek are pretty demanding but it is very important to follow the guidelines to maintain proper absorption of the incivek, also be sure to take it every 8 hrs, your schedule shows taking incivek at 7am 2pm then 9pm, that leaves a 10 hr gap overnight which is outside the prescribing guidelines
Hi Tania
Yes, it does feel like that...food and pills....food and pills...I set alarms on my phone for the food and pills since I got a little spacey and forgetful (and kind of worried that I'd forget!)
Keep us posted on how you're doing....
Jeannine

Effects of Food on Oral Absorption
The systemic exposure (AUC) to telaprevir was increased by 237% when telaprevir was administered with a standard fat meal (containing 533 kcal and 21 g fat) compared to when telaprevir was administered under fasting conditions. In addition, the type of meal significantly affects exposure to telaprevir. Relative to fasting, when telaprevir was administered with a low-fat meal (249 kcal, 3.6 g fat) and a high-fat meal (928 kcal, 56 g fat), the systemic exposure (AUC) to telaprevir was increased by approximately 117% and 330%, respectively. Doses of INCIVEK were administered within 30 minutes of completing a meal or snack containing approximately 20 grams of fat in the Phase 3 trials. Therefore, INCIVEK should always be taken with food (not low fat)

You should take the incivek within 30 min of eating the 20 gr of fat
"1pm eat 2pm pills" "8pm eat 9pm pills"
How should I take INCIVEK?
Take INCIVEK 3 times a day. Each dose should be taken 7 to 9 hours apart. Eat a meal or snack that contains about 20 grams of fat, within 30 minutes before you take each dose of INCIVEK. Talk to your healthcare provider about examples of foods that you can eat that contain about 20 grams of fat. Always take INCIVEK with food.
