very confused

I am a 52 year old white male.Approx 2 years ago I found out I have hep c.type a.viral load 455,000. after 12 weeks into treatment peg,and ribovirinI became undectable until 3 months after treatment .Found out it rebounded with viral load of 255.000. 2 weeks ago I had liver biopsy which landed me in the hospital for 5 days because of severe abdominal pain. Results of biopsy were no diagnosis because after two attempts were fragmented. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Also at what stage does systoms accure.Physically and mentally I feel fine, blood test always are perfect but from what I understand it can already be too late only a biopsy will tell me for sure.Is all this true?

sorry you are going through this. what a shame that you went through a biopsy for nothing because the sample fragmented. They need a whole piece to do the biopsy properly. Then on top of everything else you ended up in the hospital, that really stinks.   They say normal blood test dont rule out sevear liver damage but there are certain things that would be abnormal on the test. Even though you replased you still gave your liver a break during treatment. The biopsy isn't the only test to check liver damage, there is a blood test call the fibrosure which is fairly accurate on the low and high ends, and even a better test call the fibroSCAN. The fibroscan is only in a few places in the USA and more widely used in europe. Relax it does not sound like you have extensive liver damage. See a Hepatologist (liver specialist). If he is good he will be able to look at tests and examine you and will be able to tell you what kind of liver damage you have. Best of luck

Think it means that did not get an adequate liver sample and the pathologist couldn't make a report.
There are other ways of measuring liver fibrosis notably the Fibroscan (Google it!).
This does a similar job to the biopsy but is non-invasive.
Ask your doctor about.
Symptoms occur at different times in different ways in different people.
Your comment about it being 'too late' is the result of misinformation-it is complete nonsense.
If your liver function tests are persistently normal as you say then it is  reasonable to assume you don't have advanced liver damage so calm down.
Your doctor probably wont risk another needle biopsy or try the trans-jugular method but will use the Fibroscan. These are usally only found at larger hospitals with their own liver unit..
