+1 belirum

by starrystorm, Feb 10, 2008 06:58PM
I am a 43 year old, non smoker, non drinker. I had a urine test a year an a half ago and there was no liver problem. This test was for what I thought was a bladder infection. First of all.. it was insufficient in stating I had travelers dirahee, which was not at all the case. Then.. it stated that my belirum was +1. The nurse practioner.. made me so upset suggesting that I could have Hepatitis A or B. I have only one alignment for both, which is amber colored urine .. only at times, not on going throughout the day. Said my urine was cloudy. She said I was health otherwise. I want to become a nurse and need to have a clear bill of health to be able to pass a physical and I am extremely worried. I am not sure how accurate this test is even. I researched on line and it says that my test could mean a number of other things, including gall bladder, anemia, bile duck , blockage, cysts. She scared me to no end. I should have consulte a doctor and not a nurse practioner. Can a doctor please tell me what this means and what I can possible do to re generate my enzymes. I heard that the liver re generates itself often and that many people have this problem but dont know it. I also heard that breathing in chemicals, prescription and OTC drugs are harsh on the liver to process them, and  that over doing it with vitamins too can affect the liver and then it can repair itself. Will I not pass the physical for nursing now?
