1 year post tx results - SVR

I made it - SVR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 1 year post tx results came back NOT DETECTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those that are new or don't remember me I was a genotype 1-a and treated for 52 weeks (Pegasys weekly and 1,000 mg of ribavirin daily).

I just wanted to share the news with the people here that helped me get through the rough times that I had during tx.

For those of you on tx hang in there, tx does work.

TS

I am new and start tx this week, very paranoid but excited for you since I am also a 1a it makes me feel like I can do it. The hair and nails are freaking me out but I am being reassured as I read other comments that they are growing back. What type of cleanse are you doing? Something to detox the meds I assume.
Wishing you well :)

i forgot to comment on the hair, it is a very common side to start losing hair around month 4, especially if your hair is long. I was told to cut it by my doc, but I couldn't. so i did get many freaky months of what seemed huge loss. no one noticed but me and boyfriend.
My doc suggested biotin, vit e and zinc for the hair, trim it if you can, and try to see if you can tolerate nioxin shampoo, the doc suggested that one too. I also think that the anemia we all seem to get, contributes to the hairloss, so make sure your GI will intervene if your anemia makes you too weak.
the nails: mine were not growing before Tx, maybe hcv stopped them, but they have grown on treatment, nice plus. and I have not gotten a single cold or flu since starting. eyelashes seem to lenghthen also. so there are some silver linings....oh! and you might be able to eat all the snickers candy bars you want, and not gain weigh.  my favoritte side.

Thanks for all of your comments of support.

To answer your questions:

soleus - All functions (I assume you mean liver functions) are in normal range.

LVDBYGOD - I feel great.

genedog - my pre tx viral load test gave the results as >500,000 so I can't give you an exact number.  I can only say that it was over 500,000.
